The beginning of a new era is triggered in episode 23 of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ season 2, titled “Shibuya Incident – Gate, Close”. With Pseudo-Geto now in possession of Mahito’s Cursed Technique, he has unsealed cursed objects, creating forced jujutsu sorcerers.
Non-sorcerers will be forced to kill each other in a death game orchestrated by Pseudo-Geto. In Gojo’s absence, the Jujutsu Headquarters has released a new notice that is going to pose a big problem. With the return of another special grade, Yuuji’s life may not be ensured for long.

Geto has started something that will prove to be the start of a new era. All the sorcerers are still split up and separated. We have no updates on Kugisaki, Maki, or Fushiguro’s conditions.
Yuuta mentioned Inumaki’s hand being cut off, but we don’t know if it was because he got caught in the crossfire of Sukuna and Jogo’s battle. Choso’s intentions also seem dubious at best because he only cares about Yuuji. Tsumiki has also awakened, but we don’t know if Fushiguro knows yet.
Mappa has announced that the next season is already in the works and will adapt the Culling Games Arc. With Yuuta’s return, Yuuji’s life seems to be in danger, as Yuuta is one of the only four special-grade sorcerers.
With Gojo sealed, there is nobody who can potentially protect Yuuji. New characters and new techniques are going to appear in the next part. The next season will likely be released sometime in late 2024, although nothing has been specified yet.

Yuki and Pseudo-Geto discuss how to get rid of cursed spirits from the world as they did when Geto was alive. Pseudo-Geto believes the next stage of humanity is the optimization of cursed energy. Yuki points out the glaringly apparent loopholes in his strategy, but Pseudo-Geto clarifies that he has everything planned out.
Pseudo-Geto plans to plunge the world into chaos, and Yuki realizes that he has already absorbed Mahito, who can interfere with souls. Pseudo-Geto uses Idle Transfiguration and explains that he has activated this technique on two types of non-sorcerers.
Pseudo-Geto had marked people like Yuuji, who absorbed cursed objects, and people like Junpei, who had cursed techniques but were non-sorcerers. He plans to make these people kill each other to better understand cursed energy. He has basically created multiple Itadori Yuuji’s, and Fushiguro Tsumiki is one of these people.
Uraume’s ice binding all the sorcerers is released as they collapse. Choso’s blood mixed with their own proved to be poisonous. Pseudo-Geto leaves with Gojo’s Prism Realm after releasing an influx of curses. He leaves with a parting remark to Yuuji and Sukuna, saying it’s a return of the golden age of jujutsu.
The entirety of Japan is plunged into sudden silence. It is decided to make the existence of cursed spirits public. The cursed spirit outbreak is causing panic among the people who cannot see them. A child almost falls victim to a cursed spirit but is saved by the return of Okkotsu Yuuta.
Yuuta and Rika exorcise curses to win over the trust of the higher-ups. Yuki plans to confront Tengen, so she will not participate in Pseudo-Geto’s schemes. She is not necessarily on Yuuji’s side. Yuuta is summoned by the higher-ups and he forges a pact to kill Yuuji.
Jujutsu Headquarters releases a notice that confirms Geto’s survival and renewal of his death penalty. Gojo is banished from the jujutsu society for being an accomplice in the Shibuya Incident, and any attempt to free him from his seal will be considered a crime.
Moreover, Yaga is given the death penalty for inciting Geto and Gojo. Suspension of Yuuji’s death sentence is lifted, and Yuuta is assigned as his executioner. This marks the end of the Shibuya Incident.
