Jujutsu Kaisen’s Season 2 just ended on December 28, ending 2023, with a blast that sparked curiosity among fans and a thirst for more.
Season 2 has paved the way for a gripping third season featuring the Culling Game arc, which will make things more intense than the Shibuya Arc.
However, for anime watchers, this season’s ending would have been highly confounding. Keep reading this article to untangle the knots in your head.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 finale started with the special grade sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo arguing with Psuedo-Geto about the curse users.
Yuki wanted humanity to be freed from the shackles of cursed energy, just like Toji Fushiguro.
Pseudo-Geto (Kenjaku) replied by sharing his philosophy on optimizing cursed energy for humans to transcend their potential.
Pseudo-Geto then unleashed Mahito’s cursed technique, “Idle Transfiguration,” in long-range activation (sort of like a Bluetooth signal) on the people he had marked before, a thousand to be precise.
Which would transform those non-sorcerers into cursed energy users. There are two types of non-sorcerers whom Pseudo-Geto had marked.
People like Itadori who had consumed a cursed object:
Then people like Junpei Yoshino who could use the cursed technique and had their minds manipulated.
Megumi’s sister, Tsumiki Fushiguro, is a victim like Junpei.
Pseudo-Geto (Kenjaku) wants all hell to break loose, as when sorcerers and non-sorcerers fight to kill in the Culling Games, it will release a lot of cursed energy throughout Japan.
This will set Psudo-Geto’s plan of forcibly “merging” humankind with Master Tengen.

Then in the episode, Pseudo-Geto and Uraume escape with the sealed Gojo.
Pseudo-Geto delightedly told Sukuna that the Golden Age of Sorcery would begin, the Heian Period. A time when Sukuna was in his prime.
With this, Japan was thrown into a chaotic situation with a power outage and 10 million cursed spirits lurking around, wreaking inexplicable havoc.
The government had to tame the public and even considered publicizing the existence of cursed spirits. However, they didn’t.
We get to the scene where Yuta Okkotsu finally arrives back in Japan and saves a little girl from a humongous, cursed spirit.
Yuta then had a meeting with the higher-ups of the Jujusu society and shared that he wanted to Kill Yuji Itadori, blaming him for hurting Inumaki in Shibuya.
Along with that, the Jujustsu Headquarters released a notice with the following points:
- Suguru Geto is still alive, and his death penalty has been revalidated.
- Saotu Gojo is labeled a co-conspirator for the Shinuya incident and banished from the sorcery realm. Sealing him from the prison realm would be a criminal offense.
- Masamichi Yaga (the principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High) is sentenced to death as he instigated Satoru and Suguru in the Shibuya incident.
- Yuji Itadori’s suspended execution is canceled and will be carried out immediately.
- Yuta Okkutsu will be Yuji’s executioner.
Well, you see, the second and third accusations are false; the Higher-ups never liked Gojo, so they’re taking their chance to get rid of him.
In the next scene, we see Yuji clapping his hands to attract cursed spirits and exorcise them.
Will Yuta Okkutsu Actually Kill Yuji?
Yuta Okkutsu will not kill Yuji, he never intended to. He used the excuse of what happened to Inumaki during the Shibuya incident to win the higher-ups.
He will protect Yuji as it was Gojo’s request to take care of his students if something ever happened to him.
