I. Is Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 on a Break?
No, ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ season 2 is not on a break this week. Episode 21 is not delayed and will be released on the above-stated date.
2. Episode 21 Speculation
Mahito is all fired up and plans to end his fight with Itadori once and for all. Unlike Itadori and Kugisaki’s attacks, Todo’s attacks do not affect Mahito’s soul, so they are useless. Todo’s attacks won’t hinder Mahito, so he must take a supporting role so Itadori can fight Mahito properly.
It is up to Itadori to kill Mahito, as Mahito does not plan on letting this go on any further. Mahito, Itadori, and Todo are drawing out their maximum potential, so they will only get stronger from here. Itadori cannot take more damage as Arata’s technique won’t help them heal, so he must be careful not to strain himself too much.
3. Recap of episode 20
Episode 20 of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ season 2 is titled “Right and Wrong, Part 3”. After Kugisaki is attacked by Mahito, she collapses in front of Itadori. Itadori goes silent in disbelief and gets a flashback to when the first years were all alive and happy. Now, the same Kugisaki lies dead in front of her, and Itadori is reminded of how he failed to protect her and many others.
Mahito does not care, though, as he immediately attacks Itadori. Mahito can now use Black Flash, and he undisputedly attacks Itadori, who is unable to retaliate. Mahito claims that he and Itadori are the same in the sense that as he instinctually kills people, Itadori saves them. When Mahito goes for the finishing blow, Itadori suddenly disappears.
Todo swapped Itadori’s position with his technique. Mechamaru sent Todo and Arata to retrieve Gojo’s prison realm. However, Geto left with it, so they changed plans and got to Itadori on time. Todo prompts Itadori to get up, but he does not have the will to fight anymore.
Todo makes it clear to Itadori that as long as he is living, all his comrades will also be alive. He reminds Itadori of what he was entrusted with when Kugisaki and Nanami died. Todo tells him that Itadori has to keep moving forward regardless of what happens because that is the path jujutsu sorcerers chose to walk on.
Arata uses his technique to stop Itadori’s wounds from worsening. He does the same for Kugisaki and tells Itadori that there is a slight chance of her survival. Arata takes Kugisaki and leaves as Itadori gets back up to fight. Meanwhile, Todo was fighting Mahito, which got Mahito interested in his technique.
Mahito is fired up because he is very close to reaching the true essence of his soul. Todo switches positions with Itadori, who attacks Mahito with a black flash. Itadori promises to not use his sins as a reason to give up and run away. Meanwhile, Mechamaru revealed everything to Miwa. As Mechamaru bids Miwa goodbye, Utahime, and the Kyoto students make their way to Shibuya.
Itadori and Todo tag team against Mahito, and it is a fairly even fight. Mahito assesses the condition of their souls and realizes that Kugisaki and Itadori left prominent damage to his soul. Mahito goes for big attacks and targets Todo first. However, Todo manages to escape and reunites with Itadori.
Itadori throws a rock imbued with an upgraded version of black flash. Todo switches positions with it, getting infused by the energy himself, and manages to land a hit on Mahito. However, the grand attack does no harm, as Todo’s attacks can’t affect Mahito’s soul.
The battle has everyone fired up, and they are drawing out 120% of their latent potential. Mahito attacks with ‘Soul Multiplicity – Body Repel,’ an omnidirectional attack, so Todo’s switching is pointless. Mahito is determined to make this the last battle between him and Itadori.
