Every fan of the manga believed that it has a lot of potential for an anime adaptation, and now the wait is over. With MAPPA studio taking the anime adaptation forward, the last news on this topic came out in December 2019. But now we have confirmation!
1. Season 1 Release Date & Announcement
Season 1 of the Jujutsu Kaisen TV Anime was announced last week and is slated for a release in October 2020. According to the reports, the studio has finished most of the production. Some visuals and PVS have also been released.

2. Theory Section
Many believe that the anime adaptation for Jujutsu Kaisen is a little too early since there are only around 110 chapters until now, it may pose a problem in the future.
The studio might have to give long breaks in between the seasons to get more source material, or they would have to use filler episodes just to buy some time.
I. Financial Standings
As of 2020, there are 4.5 million copies of the manga in circulation. The series ranked 1st on the “Nationwide Bookstore Employees’ Recommended Comics of 2018.”
In 2019, the manga was nominated for the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award for the shōnen category. There is no further information about the money made by the franchise.
II. Animation Quality
The animation in the promotional video looked terrific. All the fans have high hopes from the MAPPA studio.
III. Gege Akutami’s Health
The writer seems to be in good health since the manga is being released at regular intervals, and there is no break in between.
3. Production Update
The only update regarding the production is that due to COVID-19, there can be some delay with the release.
We hope everything goes smoothly, and the anime is released on time, but we have to accept that the coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on the anime industry.
4. New trailer
After the last announcement about the anime adaptation in December 2019, the studio released its promotional video. The video, with its striking animation quality, reveals more cast, staff, and the anime’s October premiere.
It gives glimpses of the action we are going to witness in the show, with Yuuji fighting curses. The trailer has undoubtedly raised our hopes for the anime.
5. Key Visuals
This year’s 25th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed the first key visual on Monday for the television anime of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga. The visual looks spectacular.
A poster for Season 1 was also released.
6. Expected Storyline
The story revolves around Supernatural monsters known as “Curses” that terrorize humanity from the shadows and powerful humans known as “Jujutsu” sorcerers who use mystical arts to exterminate Curses.
When high school student Yuuji Itadori finds a dried-up finger of the legendary Curse Sukuna Ryoumen, he suddenly finds himself joining this bloody conflict. Season 1 is probably going to cover the first three volumes of the manga.
7. Fandom’s Response
Jujutsu Kaisen fandom is certainly happy with the announcement of the spectacular manga and also worried at the same time since Studio Mappa has its hands full with the upcoming God of High School anime.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 5, 2018.
The story of Jujutsu Kaisen is set in a world where Cursed Spirits feed on unsuspecting humans and fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna have been lost and scattered about.
Should any curse consume Sukuna’s body parts, the power they gain could destroy the world as we know it. The manga was well accepted by the readers and has 4.5 million copies in circulation as of 2020.
