The events depicted seem to have taken place before the start of the intense fight between Itadori and Mahito. We see Nobara Kugisaki after her apparent battle with a curse user as she goes through certain thoughts in her mind. Nitta is seen forbidding Nobara from doing something that has not yet been discussed and questions if Nanami told her something about Ieri.

Nitta tries to explain why she had kept quiet on the matter when Kugisaki responds matter-of-factly that it was probably so that she wouldn’t throw herself into an irresponsible situation like the one she was in right now.

Kugisaki also says that the particular reason in question was why the rescue team was getting delayed. She then responds to Nitta, saying that it didn’t matter if the rescue team wasn’t there yet because the others are still fighting and so going back home was not an option for her.

The scene then travels back to the present as we see the two Mahito’s fight Nobara and Yuji. Nobara uses her quick reflexes to attack her opponent simultaneously. She then jumps onto a height and launches an attack at Mahito.

Just as he repels it, Nobara follows it up with a close-range attack and stabs him in the forehead with a nail. Her powerful spell seems to affect Mahito’s ability to split as there is a direct impact on his other half as well.

Nobara’s strike on her opponent ends with a chilling scene as we see Mahito seem to be in a terrible state only to later pull the nail right out of his forehead as though nothing had happened.

I. Mahito vs. Yuji

We learn through a flashback in the latest chapter that Mahito can now split into two. One of the Mahito’s was fighting with Yuji while demonstrating some intriguing skills.

Mahito uses delayed human transfiguration during combat, which allows him to pull out human bodies from his pocket and fling them at Yuji. These bodies then transform into a bigger size and attempt to trap Mahito’s opponent.

Mahito also possesses the power to transform human bodies into a sword. This ability to transform bodies into objects gives him more options when he’s in combat.

II. Mahito vs. Nobara

“Surface” Mahito begins his battle with Nobara, where she uses her hairpin technique and manages to land a hit, making Mahito bleed. Mahito’s injury may also result from Mahito’s weakening strength due to splitting himself into two.

Mahito tells Nobara that she cannot win against him, but she turns a blind eye to his remark. The chapter ends with an intense stare-off between the two as Mahito decides to toy with Yuji’s spirit and demoralize him by fighting Nobara and bringing her corpse to Yuji.

Jujutsu Kaisen, also known as Sorcery Fight, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018.

Viz Media published the first three chapters for its “Jump Start” initiative and published the print series starting in December 2019. An anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA has been announced to premiere in October 2020.
