After the thrilling change of events in the last chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, things are unfortunately turning in Sukuna’s favor once again. The upcoming release date for chapter 259 is set for May 12th, 2024.
The ending of chapter 258 had Sukuna ready to attack with his Divine Flames. We’ve seen Sukuna use Divine Flames against Jogo, who immediately disintegrated the moment the attack reached him. It’s hard to say if Itadori can counter it.
Itadori’s Current Predicament in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259
Itadori had the upper hand in his fight against Sukuna, and with the continuous barrage of Black Flashes, he managed to weaken Sukuna’s soul.
Despite being unable to use his reversed cursed technique, Sukuna regained his Domain Expansion and unleashed Malevolent Shrine. As Itadori braced himself to hold out until Sukuna’s Domain gave, he saw Sukuna aiming his Divine Flame.
Itadori’s Training
Itadori, Choso, and Kamo discuss the Blood Manipulation Technique. Itadori asks Choso to teach him Convergence, but Choso is unable to do so. Kamo explains the workings of Blood Manipulation Techniques but rebukes Choso’s suggestion of teaching Itadori Super Nova.
According to Kamo, Itadori should learn Blood Manipulation for healing purposes. Much to Choso’s dismay, Kamo believes that Itadori knowing how to stop bleeding and suturing is enough. It is also revealed that the second person Itadori swapped with was Okkotsu Yuuta.
Sukuna’s Divine Flame Burns Down Itadori’s Hope
Sukuna imposes Binding Vows on himself to increase the effective range and power of his Divine Flames and unleashes them. Uraume, who had been fighting against Hakari Kinji, mentions that this technique will guarantee their victory.
Divine Flames are Sukuna’s strongest attack, as they took out Mahoraga and were responsible for eradicating millions in Shibuya. The attack cuts off to the panel of Choso sitting in front of Itadori. It seems like Choso had formed a shield of blood and sacrificed himself to protect Itadori from Sukuna’s attack.
Choso’s Sad Goodbye
We see Choso and Itadori in their imaginary soul world, where Choso compliments him for learning RCT faster than him. Itadori says it’s due to Sukuna using his body, but Choso says it’s okay, as little brothers are meant to surpass their older brothers.
Itadori tears up, saying Choso can’t just disappear. Choso feels compelled to apologize to Yuki, who sacrificed herself so Choso could stay with Itadori, who would be left alone if he were to die.
Itadori tells Choso he is grateful for Choso, who stayed by his side during the toughest time. Back in reality, Itadori breaks down into tears as Choso thanks him for being his brother. As Choso departs with his final words, Itadori thanks him and calls him big brother.
Is Itadori Alone Yet Again?
Itadori loses all hope as he stands alone amidst the chaos of the battlefield. He weakly calls out to anyone who can hear him as he sees Sukuna approaching him. However, he loses his resolve to fight after he finds himself alone on the battlefield.
Surprisingly, Itadori was called out by Aoi Todo, who had been out of commission since the Shibuya Incident. Todo explains that using his cursed technique, he saved Maki and Ino by swapping them with crows.
Todo’s Role in the Battle
We are taken back into a scene where Mei Mei and Todo discuss his return and role in the battle. They try to devise a plan to rescue people trapped inside Sukuna’s domain. They can get people outside by using Mei Mei’s crow and Todo’s Boogie Woogie technique.
Todo assures Itadori that the people he saved are probably all right. Believing that his comrades are probably alright, Itadori gears up to fight again, gaining his resolve back. Sukuna is now in a state where it’s difficult to use his Cursed Technique immediately after his domain expansion.
Both brothers join hands again and move toward Sukuna for one last battle. Aoi Todo’s technique, combined with Yuji, has strong dynamics. The chapter ends with, “The path to victory, linked by the brothers!”
