Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie is an upcoming Winter 2022 film of the franchise. However, it acts as a prequel to the original story. The movie was announced in the 24th episode of the anime by the creators.
With the anime ending on a cliffhanger, and fans left restless for a Season 2, MAPPA has taken up the helm to fill in a few gaps in the story for the fans.
Jujutsu Kaisen is an atypical shonen anime revolving around curses and Itadori Yuuji, who happened to eat one such curse.
As a teenager with strong ideals, he maintains a positive outlook in his life, despite the world out to kill him, literally.
It all starts one day when Yuuji swallows an extremely cursed object: ex Jujutsu sorcerer, Sukuna’s finger, to save Megumi.
After involuntarily becoming Sukuna’s vessel, he embarks on a journey to find the rest of Sukuna’s fingers while enjoying his days at Jujutsu High School.
Season 1 ended with Getou brewing a new plan just for Gojo. But is this how it all ends?
To keep the passion for Jujutsu Kaisen burning, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga would be adapted into a movie. Although the story won’t be about Yuuji, Megumi, and Nobara; a new character on par with Gojo would be introduced.

1. Release Date
The upcoming anime movie adaptation, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie, will premiere in Winter 2022.
The production team hasn’t disclosed its release date yet, Japanese or otherwise. Considering the current situation, a release date for international audiences could be made after the film hits Japanese theaters.
The staff hasn’t been revealed, but the cast from the anime should be reprising their roles for the film. MAPPA will be animating the movie, so the animation will top-notch as usual.
2. Visuals & Trailers
A teaser visual has been released for the upcoming anime. The visual shows Yuta Okkotsu. There are phantom arms around him that protectively guard him, seemingly to be Yuta’s curse, Rika.
A new teaser was released by the website announcing the arrival of Yuta Okkotsu.Yuta will be the protagonist of the movie as opposed to Yuuji, as the movie takes place before the events of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
The film will adapt Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, the prequel manga centering on Yuta.
The film should be a perfect introduction to this character who suddenly appears in chapter 137 as a Special Grade Sorcerer. Finally, we will have an insight into Yuta and his special grade curse, Rika.
3. About Jujutsu Kaisen
Jujutsu Kaisen, also known as Sorcery Fight, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018.
An anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA premiered in October 2020.
The story revolves around Yuuji Itadori, a high-school student who, despite hating athletics, is insanely fit. Yuuji gets involved in the world of sorcery when he swallows a powerful talisman to protect his friends from its curse.
On observing that Yuuji wasn’t affected much even when inflicted with this curse, Satoru decides to send Yuuji on a quest to save the world.
