While the primary campaign of Far Cry 6 was criticized for being lackluster and a rehash of previous games, the post-launch DLCs have been quite a hit amongst the fans. Three different DLCs were planned for the game, each focusing on an earlier game’s villain.
Two of those have been released, the first featuring Vaas Montenegro from Far Cry 3 and the second with Far Cry 4’s Pagan Min. We now have information on the third DLC starring Joseph Seed from Far Cry 5.
Ubisoft has revealed on Twitter that the third DLC, titled Joseph: Collapse, will be available from February 8th. Like the previous two DLCs, Joseph: Collapse will also have a unique rogue-like game style where players collect items, power-ups, and a currency named Penance. Upon dying, players will restart the DLC with none of the items they acquired during their first run.
Joseph: Collapse is intriguing as it appears to be the culmination of a meta-story arching over all Far Cry games since Far Cry 3. The Pagan Min DLC also alluded to Far Cry 5 and Joseph’s death cult towards the end.
This is also the last confirmed premium DLC for Far Cry 6, but that doesn’t mean it is the end of the road for the game. Ubisoft may announce more DLC in the future, but for now, this is all the post-launch content coming to Far Cry 6. The studio may also have a new Far Cry game ready to be announced soon.
While this is the end of the paid DLC, there is still free DLC coming to Far Cry 6. Just a couple of days ago, Ubisoft announced they would be adding a Rambo DLC, and there is going to be a crossover mission with Netflix’s Stranger Things.
The Joseph: Collapse DLC will be available for everyone who purchased the Far Cry 6 Season Pass. For those who have not picked up the Pass yet, Ubisoft is offering it at a 25% discount. They are also offering a bundle of Far Cry 6 and the Season Pass with up to 40% off.
