Episode 7, titled “Confidential File 637, A Fleeting Spring,” has been released this week.

In episode 7, we saw Asahi and Sawa being offered accommodation in an abandoned cottage. Sawa and Asahi join Oikawa for the local festival and spend the evening together. 

Makoto collected clues to the whereabouts of a treasure to fund the overthrow of Tokugawas. He also tried to instigate Sawa to return to her old self.

1. Episode 8 Speculations and Discussions

Episode 7 ended with a harrowing plot twist. With the murder of Asahi as her fuel, we can expect Sawa to take revenge on Makoto.

We will get to see Sawa change into her white crow form to fight Makoto, who has become a cat-like Changeling.

We can also expect to see Asahi being revived in some way.

2. Episode 8 Release Date

Episode 8 of the Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood anime has been released on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

The title has not been revealed yet. Also, episodes are released on streaming platforms a week before their original air date on television.

3. Recap of Episode 7

Episode 7, titled “Confidential file 637, A Fleeting Spring,” starts off with Asahi and Sawa approaching Rinko enquiring about Ouren.

After reaching the Asakura Temple, Rinko offers them accommodation in an abandoned cottage. 

Jin questions the captured revolutionary Seiji, foster son of Dr. Ijichi Todoroki, about the contents of Makoto’s notebook at the Nue headquarters.

At the same time, Makoto, who is on the brink of death, is collecting different clues to a particular treasure. There are three hidden clues to be found.

Upon collecting the three hidden clues, it leads him to the whereabouts of a treasure to fund the overthrow of the Tokugawas. 

Asahi is called to play by the rest of the kids. While she is playing, her teacher, Oikawa, uses this chance to get closer to Sawa.

Meanwhile, Makoto and Jin meet up. Makoto hands over what he claims are the remaining two vials of crystalized blue blood. Jin even enquires about the treasure, and Makoto just smirks.

Makoto visits the Asakura Temple and sees Sawa. However, Asahi does not let him talk to her.

In the evening, Sawa and Asahi join Oikawa for the local festival. Asahi decides to give them some personal time and goes elsewhere. 

Makoto approaches Sawa and expresses his disappointment in the change that has come over her. He kills Oikawa because Sawa did not listen to him.

The episode ends with Makoto threatening and killing Asahi, enraging Sawa and provoking her to change into her white crow form. 

4. About Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood

Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood is an original anime produced by Bushiroad and Sonilude. Studio Bakken Record is animating it, and it is set for an April 2021 debut.

The anime takes place in an alternate history of Japan where the Tokugawa shogunate was never abolished.

“Nue”, a group of executioners hired by the shogunate, enforce the government’s rules while Sawa Yukimura is seeking revenge for her family against the Nue.
