A woman who claims to have been assaulted and harassed by actor Jonathan Majors has obtained a full temporary order of Protection against him.
Majors, known for his roles in Lovecraft Country, Creed III, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, was arrested on March 25 after a big scandal. He faces charges of assault, strangulation, and harassment.
Majors’ representatives have denied the allegations and said that the actor is the victim, which they claim the evidence will support.
Variety reported that the victim got a full temporary order of protection from a judge in Majors’ case, according to a statement from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
The statement said that the judge agreed to the People’s request and the defense counsel to give this order. This means neither party can contact the other in any way until they meet again in court.
Majors had two consecutive box office successes with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Creed III earlier this year, which boosted his career.
But his arrest has damaged his reputation severely, as more people who claim to be abused by him have spoken up.
Majors faced more backlash from the industry after his arrest, as some people made accusations that seemed to confirm the charges against him.
He also lost several opportunities, including an Army ad deal, a role in The Man in My Basement, a Texas Rangers campaign, and an Otis Redding biopic. The actor’s talent managers at Entertainment 360 and his PR team at the Lede Company have also cut ties with him last week.
Majors’ future projects are still unclear. His film Magazine Dreams did not appear at CinemaCon even though it was supposed to come out this year. This might indicate that the studio is hesitant to promote him.
Marvel has not cut ties with him, and he is expected to return in Loki season 2, with his role as Kang being crucial for the next MCU phase.
However, everything depends on the outcome of his case, which leaves his future in doubt for now.
