Jonathan Majors’ Kang has New Dynamics with the Ant-Man Family

Jonathan Majors debuted in the MCU as He Who Remains in Loki. But he will appear as a different version of the character in Ant-Man 3, the actor explains.

He Who Remains’ appearance in Loki was a surprise to quite a few of us, but admittedly, it set up Majors’ involvement in Ant-Man 3 really well — He Who Remains explained that killing him would open the pandora’s box containing other versions of himself from the multiverse.

These versions do not want to maintain order but instead want to grab power, as we will see in the version of Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

When asked how Majors was preparing to transition from the good guy into this new villain role, he pointed out that he is helped by the new scripts and writers.

“And you know, He Who Remains is in the world now, so there’s so much we know about him. You know, there’s 40 minutes of that guy and that narrative, and so it really set me up to tell a story that has another canvas with more players. It’s not the incredible Tom Hiddleston, this time I’m dealing with Paul Rudd and Evangeline and the likes of the Ant-Man family. It’s a whole different world.”

Indeed, not only does he have new characteristics and motives as Kang, but he also has to play out new dynamics with other Marvel members like the Ant-Man family, who are totally unaware of his persona in Loki.

As Kang does appear in Loki Season 1’s final moments (albeit in a gigantic statue form) it is left to see how the events of Ant-Man 3 will feed into Loki Season 2.

Besides Majors, fans are theorizing that Loki and Ant-Man 3 may have more connections. One of them being that it is possible that the TVA is located inside the Quantum realm. It would explain how the TVA remains unbothered from most of the MCU’s storylines, super-power beings, and of course, the stones.

Ant-Man 3 is slated for 2023 but most of its plot remains in shadows. We know that the usual Ant-Man family will return — that is, Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Michael Douglas.

Kathryn Newton is also hard at work to play Cassie Lang, who is rumored to join the shrinking squad as Stature.

Filming for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has begun. We look forward to more tidbits!
