With season 3 of The Mandalorian arriving on Disney+ today, creator Jon Favreau kicks off the show’s third season premiere with a new update on another show in the Mandoverse. We all remember Ahsoka Tano, a young Jedi we met in season 2 of the show. Dave Filoni, one of the writers on Mando, is the showrunner of her upcoming Disney+ series.
Ahsoka Tano will mark the return of Rosario Dawson as the titular character, and the new show will center on the Jedi warrior during her search for Grand Admiral Thrawn. The lead actor confirmed recently that the show would hit the streaming platform this fall, and now Jon Favreau, executive producer of the series, gives us another update.
In an interview with ScreenRant, the Mandalorian creator confirmed that Filoni is currently “deep in post-production” and shared the approximate stage of where they’re at in that part of the process. You can read his full quote below:
Well, the good news is there’s a whole Ahsoka show. [Laughs] I’ll talk about it so Dave doesn’t have to, but we’re in post-production. He’s done filming; the visual effects are starting to come in, and the music is starting to come in. Great cast, and what a rich legacy to build upon.

With The Mandalorian’s latest season out of the way and Indiana Jones 5 coming closer to completion, Lucasfilm can set their focus on Ahsoka, and we might even get our first look teasers by April or May 2023.
Ahsoka’s story will be set after the Clone Wars and Rebels, and joining Dawson in the series are Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Eman Esfandi, Ray Stevenson, and Ivanna Sakhno. You can read more about the announcement of the potential release date and the show’s plot in the article below:
