At Kamome Academy, rumors abound about the school’s Seven Mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san.
Said to occupy the third stall of the third-floor girls’ bathroom in the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when summoned.
Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl who dreams of romance, ventures into this haunted bathroom, but the Hanako-san she meets is nothing like she imagined and turned out to be a boy!
With a turn of events, she becomes spiritually bound to Hanako. She becomes his assistant, helping him destroy evil supernaturals and change rumors to maintain the balance between the spirit world and the human world.
Along the way, Yashiro learns about her connection to the spirit world and the dark secrets regarding Hanako and his past.
1. Chapter 69 Discussions & Predictions
The title for chapter 69 has not been revealed yet, but we will get to see Hanako and Nene rescue Sumire out of the gloomy village. But if Sumire leaves her Yorishiro place, No. 6 might appear in the next chapter!
Hanako and Nene are yet to reach their Academy where another pit has been created, and they need to come up with a way to close it, to save the students from the hungry monsters.
They are making a new plan to save Aoi without making Sumire disappear. Will they succeed or No. 6 will come bolstering with techniques to ruin their strategy and become an obstacle?
On the other hand, there are discussions of the last panel of the previous chapter where Aoi noticed Akane’s feelings for her and reciprocated.
But readers are worried about Akane’s feelings being played with because Aoi is still under No. 6’s influence.
However, they have also yet to escape back to the human world and not forget the rising interest of the readers between Sumire’s and Aoi’s connection to each other.
Kou, Mitsuba, and Tsukasa’s gang are finally on to something, but it seems that this arc is far from coming to an end!

4. Recap of Chapter 68
1. In Sumire’s memories
Chapter 68, titled “Sumire (Part 3),” begins with Sumire’s story, we take a look into her burden! She tells the story of long ago in her village; there was a pit leading to the far shore.
It contained starving monsters who greedily devoured people on the land. With no other choice, the villagers decided to throw young girls into the pit as a living bait.
They mask their misdeeds; the girls were fed with lies and told those who offered themselves up for the village’s sake would cross over to the other world where the God’s resided and enjoy everlasting happiness.
As she observes Hanako fending off the villagers, she thinks that in the end, nothing changed at all.
The villagers start attacking Hanako and Yashiro as a black smoke rises, and they believe the incomplete rituals have angered the gods.
2. She doesn’t know about him.
But soon, the people surrounded by the black smoke start decaying, and their bones falling to the ground.
The edge breaks, causing Hanako and Yashiro to fall off the cliff, but Hanako manages to grab a stone to hang on, holding Yashiro by her side.
Sumire jumps into the pit, saying she will end all of it, and with a plop, Hanako and Yashiro are teleported back to the place with the stone statues. Sumire apologizes to them and tells that they experienced her rewound beginning.
But Hanako cuts to the chase and questions her about No. 6’s orders for her.
She tells him not to ask such things as what that person’s intentions were, for from the day Sumire was awakened as a Yorishiro she has been reliving the same day and death, stuck in time prison for her and never did Sumire meet him from the time she lost her life.
3. Rescuing Sumire-chan!
Sumire thought No. 6 might have loved her, but knowing how he never once came to meet her, she gave up.
Sumire tells them if they remove her Yorishiro’s seal, they will return to their world. But Yashiro stops Hanako in his tracks and asks Sumire why exactly she likes No. 6, when he is worse.
Yashiro reasons that in Sumire’s memories, No. 6 was cold and distant and that she only fell in love with him because she was in that gloomy village.
Yashiro suggests they run away together; she explains to Hanako there might be another way of saving Aoi, who must be in a similar situation as Sumire.
After coming upon an agreement with Sumire that she won’t attack Hanako, he summons the elevator and agrees to take her back to their school with them!
In an unknown place, Aoi wakes up to being carried by Akane, who eventually falls out of exhaustion. They have a small chat, and Aoi agrees not to leave and tells him to rest for some time ending the chapter!

Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun, also known as Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, is a Japanese manga series by Iro Aida.
