I believe that the universe listens to die-hard fans. It is now confirmed that the original stars of Jurrasic Park will be returning alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in Jurassic World 3!.
The official return of the original trio is enough to hype the movie but there is still a while before the movie sees the light of day. The film is scheduled to release on June 11th 2021.
Colin Trevorrow, the director of the movie, revealed the news on Monday night at a screening of the first World movie at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood. Colin told the crowd and fans worldwide that Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill and Laura Dern will all be back in the forthcoming threequel (and the sixth overall) of the Jurassic Park franchise.
He also mentioned the fact that these actors will have sizeable roles and they won’t just be pop-up characters or cameos. Watch the video where Trevorrow shocked fans by inviting Dern on stage to help him spill the beans:
Fans all over the reacted in numerous unusual ways and took to social media:
Neil’s Alan Grant last appeared in the significant role in of 2001’s Jurassic Park III and Dern’s Ellie Satler had a cameo in the same movie. Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm showed up in a couple of scenes in last year’s Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom, which did suggest he’d be back for the threequel.
This news follows the surprise release of short film Jurassic World: Battle at Big Rock last week. The impressive 10-minute teaser for Jurassic World 3 featured a family escaping a dinosaur attack while on a camping trip. Fallen Kingdom blew open the franchise by having dinos released into the wild.
