Jason Momoa is easily one of the prominent actors in the action-thriller and ‘badass fight scenes’ genre right now. From his Baywatch days to playing a DC comics superhero, he has had a pretty versatile career.
So naturally, one would expect that he hopes the same for his kids. Right? Wrong. Momoa has revealed that he doesn’t want his kids to ever get into acting and has a pretty good reason behind it as well.
In an interview with ET’s Lauren Zima, Momoa talked about his kids’ possible futures in movies and said he’d try ‘damnedest’ to keep them out of the spotlight.
Aw man, one of them wants to do it, and I’m not a fan. I don’t want them to. I don’t know. I’ll try my damnedest to keep ’em out of it. I love storytelling, I love theatrical things, I like directing and filmmaking, but I just want them to, you know, really to go for other things.

Momoa has two kids, Lola and Nakoa Wolf, with his wife, actress Lisa Bonet. He further elaborated that the pressure that comes with being in front of the camera can sometimes get too much.
If they [really] want to, maybe. But I don’t want them to get into acting. It’s very hard on people, and I don’t want them to have that pressure. I’m tough, I can handle it, but I wouldn’t want to put someone I love [through] that.

The actor has been busy promoting his upcoming Netflix thriller Sweet Girl which premieres August 20 on Netflix.
Momoa has been branching out and experimenting with his hand behind the camera. He has previously directed some short films and is also a producer on the Netflix film.
I’ve been directing for a while now, so it’s been a passion. I love to see the full project, not just be in the one piece of it. But it’s nice also to just do the actor stuff. I’m happy I can do both.

Momoa, 42, was rooted in Hollywood when he landed the role of Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. Since then, he’s starred in other series like Discovery Channel’s Frontier and Apple TV’s See.
With various projects including Dune, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, See Season 2, and others underway, the thespian himself has no plans to retire anytime soon.
Even if Momoa is against the idea, his kids are surrounded by actors and artists, one being his stepdaughter Zoë Kravitz, who will also make her DC entry with The Batman in 2022. If acting runs in the family, Momoa might not be able to stop his kids from pursuing a career in it.
