Missing Cap? Catch Rogers: The Musical In Hawkeye

Steve Rogers will live on. This time, memorialized in a Broadway musical as teased in the official Hawkeye trailer.

It’s the Christmas season and Clint Barton aims to make amends with his kids for lost time. No better way than to start off with a musical on Broadway! And what have you, the marquee reads that the bestselling show is none other than Rogers: The Musical.

Did you miss glimpses of the musical while watching the trailer? No problem, once again for your perusal:

While we as the audience know of Cap’s role in correcting End Game’s loop and returning the stones to their correct timestamps, the locals of the MCU are perhaps still in the dark about Captain’s real fate.

In any case, it seems that the general consensus is that he died a hero, and the post-End Game world has found many ways to keep building Cap’s legacy. In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Rogers had a dedicated museum. An early picture of Spider-Man: No Way Home showed Lady Liberty holding a shield.

And now, a recreation of Rogers’ life in song and dance. A few Twitter users have even furnished a clever setlist of songs that should appear in the musical:

The tiny snippet of the musical in the Hawkeye trailer portrays a scene from the 2012 Avenger’s Battle of New York as we see Rogers stage center with Thor, Loki, Stark, Barton and Romanoff (the latter two on the balcony above) joined by a group of Chitauri warriors who act as back-up dancers.

This musical surprise reveal has elevated Hawkeye’s tone and really embraced the holiday spirit. But with only six episodes on the slate and a lot whole of story to parcel in, we’re not sure if we’ll get to see more than a few minutes of Rogers: The Musical. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.

Fans’ enthusiastic reception, on the other hand, tells that the fictional musical may have a better chance than the ill-fated Spider-Man Broadway show, a decade ago.

If not in Hawkeye, Marvel may consider actually taking Rogers: The Musical to the stage.
