Since its release over two years ago, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has been steadily keeping players busy with a plethora of new content. But the two years of post-game content and support is coming to an end with the release of “The Last Chapter” DLC. There are two halves to “The Last Chapter” DLC and it includes a quest called The Raven and the Cuckoo.
The Raven and the Cuckoo quest will be the last quest and DLC in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the final DLC update “The Last Chapter”. The DLC will also give closure to Eivor’s saga and will also provide a sneak peak on what’s next in the Assassin’s Creed franchise after Valhalla.
In The Raven and the Cuckoo quest, Eivor meets with a new character called Roshan and helps her take down a member of an opposing order. It’s also evident that Roshan will play a bigger role in the future of Assassin’s Creed. “The Last Chapter” quests are a series of cutscenes which features Eivor saying goodbye to their friends and allies and thus concluding their story.
Will there be a New Game Plus in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
Many players have been waiting for an Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla New Game Plus now that the final DLC is here. But unfortunately Ubisoft has confirmed that the highly-requested feature will not be added in the game.
With the end of the game’s two year run, players expected that the New Game Plus will be added in the final update but unfortunately that isn’t the case. The reason given for this was that “the depth of the game gave limited options to make replayability unique and rewarding”. So, if you want to play the adventure again, you have to start from the beginning from scratch.
What’s next for Assassin’s Creed?
Assassin’s Creed’s future is looking brighter than ever with several games in development for both consoles and mobile. The future of Assassin’s Creed starts with the release of the highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed: Mirage in 2023 which features Basim as a protagonist and takes the series back to its roots.
Assassin’s Creed: Mirage isn’t a full-blown experience as in, it will be a much shorter experience than its predecessor, kind of what Spider-Man: Miles Morales was to Spider-Man: Remastered but not as short as Miles, still shorter than Valhalla hence the lower price tag. After Mirage, Codename Red and Codename Hexe are the next big entries in the series.
