Black Myth: Wukong has been making waves across the gaming community. Being a story-driven narrative, the progress is pre-paced to a certain extent. The Chapters make the open-world possibilities interesting while also funneling players through a linear action-packed plot
One such part of the open world that players miss is the Man-In-Stone quest. This lets the players access a new merchant NPC along with acquiring a very powerful transformation. One of the items available from this NPC is the Gold Ridge Beast.
1. Should you buy the Gold Ridge Beast in Black Myth: Wukong?
Players should not buy the Gold Ridge Beast in Black Myth: Wukong. The item has no known use, and the Man-In-Stone is a fraudster NPC. The Man-in-Stone sells it for 12,800 Will, while players only get 6,000 when you sell it back.
The Gold Ridge Beast can be obtained from a merchant NPC, which is interestingly an arrogant and annoying Boss that you defeat. The Man-In-Stone NPC turns into a salesman after being defeated by Wukong in Chapter 2.
Players get acquainted with the nature of the Man-In-Stone through their battle with him. And it seems like common sense not to trust the Boss-turned-manager of the new shop very much.
So, if a boss drops it, you’ll have a nice, valuable item to sell and a sizable amount of Will to spend on weapons. Starting Chapter 3, they cost a lot more. But wasting valuable will, especially in the game’s early stages, seems like a futile exercise. After all, if it is useful, you can always come back.
2. How to obtain the Gold Ridge Beast?
To acquire the Gold Ridge Beast, players must complete the subjugation quest of Man-In-Stone. This is a hidden quest of Chapter 2 in Black Myth: Wukong. Completing the quest turns the Boss into a merchant NPC. The item can also drop from Bosses randomly.
The Man-In-Stone Boss is a mocking and annoyingly jarring Boss that curious players may have encountered. There are multiple benefits to defeating the Man-In-Stone. The first one is that it opens up a new shop that you can visit to spend your Will on.
The Man-In-Stone sets up his shop with a whole host of items that players can buy. This NPC can be visited at any time. The Gold Ridge is the most expensive item that the Man-In-Stone sells in his shop.
The second benefit is the Transformation Spell, Azure Dust. This spell is relatively more powerful than the usual ones at the stage of the story in Chapter 2. The Gold Ridge Beast is the priciest item that can be bought in the store of the Man-In-Stone.
The best way to obtain the Gold Ridge Beast is by grinding Bosses as usual, and you will obtain it at some point. It is something to be found, not something to be sought out. The amount of Will you spend on the Gold Ridge Beast from the Man-In-Stone’s shop is far more than its actual worth.
