The Flight Attendant actress Kaley Cuoco has revealed what to expect from the show’s upcoming second installment. Following its successful first run, Cuoco seems to have a set plan for what her character will be doing in Season 2.
After it was announced that HBO Max had greenlit the show for a second season and that Cassie’s life would take her on a “new adventure,” there’s been heated debates about what direction she could take going ahead. But as for the chances of Cassie joining the CIA, that seems unlikely.
According to Cuoco’s recent interview with Deadline, she explained the show wouldn’t be making such drastic changes to the character’s narrative. Check out her statement here:
“I was very clear when we decided we wanted to do a second season, that I didn’t want Cassie to all of a sudden be like an amazing FBI agent. We are going to be adding in that slight CIA asset on the side.”

The actress also revealed that the upcoming season would see Cassie move to LA and try her hand at being sober, which will be interesting to see. For the majority of Season 1, Cassie has been either drunk, struggling to prove her innocence, or fending herself against bad guys; this new change could fare her well.
But given Cassie’s story so far, it is clear that she will get involved in yet another misadventure as trouble follows her wherever she goes. As Cuoco said in her extended statement, Cassie’s road to sobriety would lead her to make some wrong decisions, it can be assumed that things go downhill from there.
But regardless of the confirmation about Cassie not becoming an intelligence agent, the show will definitely be introducing the CIA in some aspect.
Furthermore, it should also be noted that although The Flight Attendant‘s first season was based entirely on Chris Bohjalian’s novel, the author is yet to write a sequel for the book. This means that if Season 2 aims to start production soon, it’ll either have to join forces with Bohjalian or create a new story altogether.
But no matter what the approach, it’s sure to be a gripping one that does justice to Cassie’s extraordinary story.
