The Bear Season 4: Is it Happening? Cast, Plot Details Explained

FX on Hulu’s breakout culinary dramedy-The Bear has indeed cooked up three fantastic seasons to date. Created by Christopher Storer, The Bear is about the problematic culmination of chef Carmy, who leaves the intense world of fine dining to take charge of that pressure cooker known as his family’s failing sandwich shop in Chicago.

Known for its hyper-realistic look into the kitchen, The Bear has only gotten more suspenseful with each ongoing season without compromising any brilliant characters that make up the show.

Considerably a lot less intense than its predecessor, The Bear season 3 ends with so much on the table, leaving the inclusion of a cliffhanger ending not seen in either of its predecessors.

Luckily for the fandom salivating over their next fix of The Bear, FX on Hulu has already ordered a fourth season.

1. Is The Bear Season 4 Happening?

Though an official announcement from FX on Hulu hasn’t arrived, the latest news seems to confirm that The Bear has been renewed for season 4. According to various reports from local Chicago media sources, The Bear production has been spotted in the city even though filming has long since wrapped on season 3.

This suggests that production is already underway on season 4 and that FX on Hulu hopes to film the seasons back to back. That implies the streamer is trying to avoid potential delays and keep with the yearly schedule in seasons 1 through 3.

2. The Bear Season 4: Cast and Crew Details

Although The Bear is known for its heart-pounding suspense and shocking twists and turns, the cast of the FX on Hulu dramedy has remained consistent throughout all three seasons thus far. Standing on the tail of the ending of Season 3, it’s almost necessary that many—if not all—the stars return to reprise their roles, with no one left in a very stable place.

With that in mind, audiences can look forward to Jeremy Allen White reprising his role as the misguided but brilliant cook Carmy “Carmen” Berzatto.

Though her fate is very much left up in the air in “The Bear,” Ayo Edebiri’s Sydney joins him in being a necessity for season 4, as does Carmy’s apparent “cousin,” Richard “Richie” Jerimovich, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

The rest of the kitchen staff, too, is equally important. Through the three seasons, they have grown into very interesting people in their own right who tote around compelling story arcs of their own that resonate with the fate of the restaurant. Big cameos-say, Jamie Lee Curtis and Oliva Colman-are less clear just yet, though the show has made good on its huge guest stars this far.

3. What will be the plot for The Bear Season 4?

Because the dramedy is predicated upon gut-wrenching tension, The Bear season 3’s finale was anything but conclusive—leaving Sydney to think deeply as she is now left with having to choose between an offer that could put her in a better career status and staying in a place where she feels the happiest.

Meanwhile, the result of that review remains to be seen, and “The Bear” could well lose its principal financer should Uncle Jimmy pull his cash. Under all that, though, lies a knotty web of emotional entanglements, as nearly every potential outcome will have crucial consequences in The Bear season 4 and beyond.

4. A rundown of The Bear Season 3 for the uninitiated!

The Bear season 3’s ending maintains an air of ambiguity surrounding whether the Chicago Tribune review is positive or negative. However, it briefly features flashes of several keywords from the review, allowing the viewer to guess its content.

In the final arc of The Bear season 3, Sydney is seen enjoying herself at Ever’s retirement after-party. However, a sudden breakdown reveals that she must choose between staying at The Bear or joining Ever’s former CDC Adam on his new restaurant venture.

During Ever’s retirement party, Carmy runs into his old boss, David. Through Carmy’s flashbacks, one can see how he was bullied and humiliated in the kitchen by David, which gave Carmy his psychological and emotional trauma.
