Sukuna Vs. Yuji -The Epic Saga
Chapter 267 of Jujutsu Kaisen showcased exciting revelations and a major character comeback. Yuji had engaged Sukuna in his domain and had seemingly gained the upper hand now. Yuji is determined to pull through, especially after seeing Megumi fighting back.
Nobara had dealt some serious damage to Sukuna thanks to her using the Resonance technique on Sukuna’s last finger and thus subjecting him to Yuji’s Domain sure hit effect.
Seeing his long lost friend got Yuji pumped up as he forces apart Sukuna’s soul with Dismantle before engaging him in close combat.
Yuji successfully had Sukuna throw out the ingested fingers, thus significantly weakening him. Sukuna’s confidence crumbles when Yuji lands the last blow- Black Flash, signalling the long-awaited end of the vicious cycle.
What Happened to Sukuna in Chapter 268 of Jujutsu Kaisen?
Sukuna advises Megumi to rest and allow him to control his body. However, Megumi is quite confident about Sukuna’s defeat. In his internal conversation with Sukuna, he says that if Sukuna’s 19 fingers disappear, one last finger won’t have enough force to connect his soul from the effects.
In the real world, Yuji’s Domain falls apart, and surprisingly, so is Sukuna’s reincarnation body. He is then forcefully peeled away from Megumi’s body, rendering him a mere tiny creature who is disappearing every passing second.
Yuji picks up the remaining residual and says his last words to him. Sukuna’s existence finally ends, but not before him, warning Yuji not to underestimate him as he is a curse.
Is Sukuna finally dead?
From the looks of the latest chapter spoilers and the number of remaining chapters, it can be safely assumed that the King of Curses, who had been tormenting the Jujutsu world, is finally dead.
Gege had been building up the narrative from the last few chapters, leading to his fitting conclusion in chapter 268 of Jujutsu Kaisen. Further, Uraume had also confirmed Sukuna’s defeat before evaporating.
Sukuna, the final antagonist, is gone for good, but there are various speculations that he might return as a curse due to his last words and quite underwhelming character ending. But that’s for future discussion if Gege will someday write a sequel. For now, fans can breathe in relief.
