Is Ray Park Returning as Darth Maul in ‘Star Wars’?

Ray Park, the actor who portrayed the evil Darth Maul in the Star Wars movie series, has sparked rumors of the character’s return to the series with a behind-the-scenes picture of his familiar horn prosthetics. The actor shared a photo from his official Instagram account, which led fans to wonder if he was offering a subtle hint that he might be reprising his role once more.

Darth Maul first appeared in 1999’s Star Wars: The Phantom Menace as the apprentice of Darth Sidious. Although the Sith Lord was killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi in the movie, he returned to play important parts in the future installments of Star Wars. His character developed significantly in Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Maul returned in Solo: A Star Wars Story as one of the antagonists. The way in which his character currently stands, he can be easily incorporated into the growing Star Wars universe on Disney+. A new show about Obi-Wan Kenobi has already been announced, which will have Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the Jedi master. Since the shows will be connected to each other, Maul might be introduced in Obi-Wan Kenobi and then fleshed out in Andor.

Of course, it might just be a throwback post about the actor’s time with the franchise. There is no news of Solo getting a second part anytime soon, and not much is known about the cast of the upcoming Star Wars series.

What do you think? Would you like to see Maul as a villain in Andor?
