Amazon’s latest MMORPG New World was announced back in 2016. After going through alpha and beta phases, and facing a couple of delays, the game was finally released on Steam and Amazon’s Prime gaming service for all the players in September 2021.
New World is an open-world fantasy Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) developed and published by Amazon Games, exclusively for PC.
Unfortunately, New World is not available on PS5, Xbox, or any other console device. Additionally, the New World production team has shown no particular interest in launching the game for consoles.
When will New World launch for consoles?
The New World production team has explicitly stated in one of their recent tweets that they will not be launching the game for consoles in the foreseeable future, and it will only be playable on PC.
New World became an immediate hit from the very first day of its launch and has racked up millions of views on online streaming platforms like Youtube and Twitch. It is no wonder that the hardcore console fans have been desperate to get their hands on a console-compatible version of the game for so long.
Unfortunately, for such fans, the New World team has constantly struggled to fix the server issues, queueing time, and major bugs that have plagued the game since day one, and it looks like they have been too busy even to consider taking such a massive leap of launching the game for different consoles.
Luckily, with the release of the latest 1.0.3 update, it looks like most of the significant issues around the game have been solved, and now Amazon can look into the different aspects of the game, like launching it on other platforms. Sadly, there is no official announcement or teaser regarding the same, and it is highly likely that we might never see New World on a console.
To be honest, I believe it is for the better that New World is not coming to consoles as such MMORPGs do not render the same experience on consoles as they do on PC. I recommend all my console brethren to drop their controllers for once and grab a keyboard to experience this absolute beauty of a game.
Can my PC run New World? System Requirements
Even though New World may seem too bulky of a game for regular PCs to run, its system requirements are not anything out of the ordinary. If you are facing any performance issue, try one of our recommended tricks.

Where can I buy New World?
Amazon’s New World is a one-time purchase of $40 (Standard Edition) or $50 (Deluxe Edition) and can be purchased from Steam and Amazon’s marketplace.
You can purchase the entirety of the game for a pre-decided fee, which seriously reduces the chances of making the game a pay-to-win. But the one-time purchase doesn’t mean that there won’t be any DLCs or microtransactions.
The game features an in-game store for microtransactions. Still, it only offers items, like skins and accessories, which visually enhance the gaming experience and have no effects on the gameplay and stats of the player or weapon.
