Is Masashi Kishimoto Ready to Create a new Masterpiece After Naruto and Boruto?

After creating a global phenomenon that inspired a whole new generation of manga and still continuing its sequel, is there any new Kisimoto wonder on the horizon? The answer may be more positive than you think after the creator’s new statement.

Recently, Masashi Kishimoto, during the France Event 2024, was asked about his future career goals. After his reply, there originated a string of speculations about his potential next manga series.

Recently, an event, ‘ Naruto and Boruto: Night at Konoha,’ was organized by CGR Events in France in 2024. During the fest, Kishimoto and the co-author of Boruto attended the press conference, where they were asked various questions about their expertise.

On that instance, the Naruto Creator was asked about his future goal as a manga author. He replied that he has a goal, but right now for him, the most important thing for him is to spend time with his family. 

Further, he added that he loves the moments with the fans and would love to have more of them. According to him, these are the moments where he finds motivation and will for a new project.

Kishimoto’s statement sparked rumors of a new manga series in the works among the fandoms. Well, if it’s true, then it is certainly not releasing anytime soon. 

Right now, he’s busy working on the second part of the Boruto series titled Boruto:Two Blue Vortex with Mikio Ikemoto as the illustrator. The manga is doing quite well, given its reputation as one of the best-selling new-gen manga.

But from his words, he seems to be thinking about the concept of his new work. From the looks, he also might be taking a long time before starting it not to have a repeat of his previous work, Samurai 8. But fans have faith that his next work will definitely be a masterpiece.

Naruto is the first masterpiece of Masasi Kishimoto that broke all the possible records to become the most popular series worldwide. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2014. 

Naruto follows the journey of a young ninja, possessed by a nine-tailed beast, to become the Hokage of his village. The anime was animated by studio Pierrot and has 720 episodes representing the saga of Naruto from childhood to adulthood. 

Later, Kishimoto became the writer of Naruto’s sequel series- Boruto, after the original writer, Ukyō Kodachi, stepped down. Boruto follows the story of next-generation ninjas with Naruto’s son as a protagonist. Boruto, animated by Pierrot, currently has 294 episodes.

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. Its publication began on September 21, 1999, and continued till November 10, 2014, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga has collected 72 volumes in tankōbon format.

Naruto Shippuden is Part II of the anime series, which follows an older Naruto as he attempts to save his friend Sasuke while at the same time – addressing the looming threat of the criminal organization – Akatsuki – who are targeting him for their grander scheme.
