Lisa and Will hit it off right from the moment they met. There was obvious chemistry between them, and the audience wanted nothing more than for them to get together.
Although they’ve had their moments, complications have found a way to push them away.
Something has always made these two love birds question their relationship, whether Will’s past or Fred Wilkes’ (Lisa’s dad) entry into the District Attorney race.
The last time we saw the two sleep with each other, we felt that their relationship would finally break new ground.
However, Lisa’s father exposes Will by telling Lisa about his past and how he was imprisoned for gun possession. When Lisa confronts Will, he tries to explain it to her, and she understands, too. But Lisa is also overwhelmed and walks away.
So, would Will and Lisa’s relationship last in Bel-Air?
Will and Lisa’s relationship will most likely last since they always manage to work through the problems. Phillip’s withdrawal from the election can also unburden Lisa and the internal conflict she was facing and she might then choose to be with Will.
In Episode 9 of Bel-Air, we saw so many arcs intertwine and affect each other in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Until now, every person in the house has tried to help Phillip Banks win the District Attorney’s Office election.
However, as Geoffrey pointed out, the election would break the family due to the amount of pressure it brings. As a result, Phillip decided to bow out and show full support to Fred Wilkes in the election.
Fred Wilkes would use Will’s incident in the debate, and Phillip wouldn’t have allowed that.
This also means that Viv could get a fair shot at being an artist, Hilary can explore more options for her career as a chef, Carlton doesn’t have to make too many public appearances, and Will can have a second shot at Lisa and life.
Will and Lisa have found a way to talk about things. Their communication hasn’t been the strongest, but it seems to be developing as it would in any other relationship.
Now that everything is in the open, Will and Lisa can move past things and try to be together.
Lisa wouldn’t have to worry about the elections and her father’s entry into the race anymore. However, he can still come in the way because he believes Will isn’t a good person. Although the election clouded his judgment, he still wasn’t ever fond of Will.
Despite all this, I still believe the two have a shot at a great relationship because they have the ability to be honest with each other. Will isn’t a criminal or a lost cause.
The incident in Philly is the only grave mistake he’s ever made in his life, so maybe Lisa would understand.
However it unfolds, I feel that the two might find some semblance of closure to this incident and move ahead from it.
The season finale might depict this, but Will might have some new problems coming his way. One of the biggest of them would be his father.
It would be interesting to see how Will takes it and how it affects the entire family. I can’t wait to find out how it all unfolds.
