However, this mindset of his changed when he suddenly realised one day that he was significantly stronger than humans.
After this realization, he was in a constant state of curiosity. He wanted to know the full extent of his abilities and he wanted to know more about humans as well. When it reached the point that this curiosity turned into an obsession, he found himself in sight of the mysterious creature within him that was revealed in the previous chapter.
What Happened to Hibino Kafka? Is He Dead?
Back in the real world, it was confirmed that Kaiju No.8’s core was destroyed. Despite this, Hibino still showed some signs of retaliation. Headquarters detected the signal of an entirely new monster of unknown resilience from within No.9.
After this, No.9’s face split from the middle, revealing several eerie eyes within. Right after this, a mysterious mark appeared on Kafka’s arm, and almost immediately, the arm blew off, causing a ton of wreckage behind him.
Right after this, a similar mark appeared on Kafka’s chest right where he got stabbed, and the same phenomenon occurred again: a huge hole was punctured in No.8’s chest, and he was sent flying backward.
After this, headquarters stopped getting any sign of vitality from Kaiju No.8, and he seemingly died on that spot.
Will Captain Ashiro Die Too?
Right after Kafka seemingly died, Ashiro was keen on avenging him and decided to blast off the new monster before any more damage was caused. However, her plan was in vain as right before she could shoot, the monster sent another shockwave, which destroyed her canon and heavily injured her.
However, she wasn’t done yet. Right after she took impact, she readied herself to shoot a shot with her pistol. However this time around, the same mysterious mark that appeared on Kafka’s face appeared on Ashiro’s face as well. The chapter concluded with this after the closing line that warned that no human could ever escape from this disastrous monster.
