Healin’ Good Pretty Cure (Hīrin Guddo Purikyua) is a Japanese magical girl anime series by Toei Animation.
Toei Animation Inc. licensed the series outside Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming the series on June 28, 2020.
The anime is based on “The Healing Garden” which is protected by three girls who form the Healin’ Good Pretty Cure team. They protect the mysteries of the secret world on Earth.

The Healing Garden is a secret place deep inside the earth. It is under attack by the Byogens whose plan is to infect the garden and slowly poison the Earth.
In order to save this secret garden, the Healing Animals, along with Latte, the young princess of the Healin’ Garden, escape in search of their partners.
Three ordinary girls are chosen as their partners and are now able to transform into Pretty Cure with the power of the Healing Animals and fight against the Byogens!
The Healing Good animals choose their three partners based on their honesty, kindness, and sense of responsibility. The Pretty Cure’s duties include protecting Latte, the precious planet Earth and all her creatures by taking care of them.
The anime embodies a good balance of emotion and fun. The characters provide a great dynamic and sense of depth that is relatable.

Whilst its target audience may be young girls, this show can be enjoyed just as much by anyone owing to its coming-of-age story of responsibility, justice, and high hopes.
I. Plot
The plot revolves around 13-year old Nodoka Hanadera recently moved to the town of Sukoyaka with her family in hopes that it can give her a fresh start from her life in the city.
Simultaneously, in a place deep inside the Earth known as “The Healing Garden”, is under attack by the Byogens whose plan is to infect the garden and slowly poison the Earth.
The Healing Garden’s ruler, Teatine, entrusted the care of her daughter Latte to the Healing Animals – Rabirin, Pegitan, and Nyatoran – who are on a mission to go to the surface world and find three people whose hearts are pure and can partner with them.
Back on Earth, both Nodoka and the fairies witness an attack from the Byogens and in a sudden twist of fate, Rabirin meets up with Nodoka who despite her somewhat frail condition, is determined to protect others.
Nodoka’s selfless behavior touched Rabirin and resulted in Nodoka becoming the Pretty Cure foretold in legend, Cure Grace.
Chiyu (Cure Fontaine) and Hinata (Cure Sparkle), together with Nodaka (Cure Grace) all form the Healin’ Good Pretty Cure team in order to fight against the threat of the Byogens and protect all life on Earth along with the Healing Garden.
II. Characters
Hanadera Nodoka is a second-year middle school student who just moved to Sukoyaka City. She goes at her own pace and strives to try many different things despite lacking the athletic ability to accomplish most of them.
Nodoka has a very kind heart and selflessness that resonates with one of the healing animals- Rabirin. Together with Rabirin, Nodoka can transform into the Pretty Cure of Flowers, Cure Grace.
Rabirin is an energetic rabbit-like healing animal. She has a strong sense of justice and also very high-spirited which can lead to making many mistakes sometimes.
Sawaizumi Chiyu is also a second-year middle school student who leads a hygienic and cheerful way of life. She has a strong sense of responsibility and cannot stand injustice.
Chiyu is sporty and smart as well, especially when it comes to science. Her family runs a hot spring inn. Together with Pegitan, Chiyu can transform into the Pretty Cure of Water, Cure Fontaine. Pegitan is a blue Emperor penguin-like healing animal.
He is very intelligent, but is shy and lacking in confidence. He has a strong sense of justice just like his partner Chiyu.
Hiramitsu Hinata is portrayed as an introvert who is a smart and friendly second-year middle schooler. Hinata has an obsession with fashion and cosmetics but is poor at studying. She is honest and tends to speak her mind, always apologizing once she realizes she did something wrong.

Nyatoran is very free-spirited and much like Hinata, says whatever is on his mind.
Latte is a young princess from Healing Garden. Due to being young, she hasn’t gained the ability to speak yet, but by using a stethoscope, you can hear her inner voice.
She can detect when Byokenzu infects the Earth, like her mother Queen Teatinu, but when she uses too much power, she becomes very weak.
The Elemental Spirits are described as the spirits residing in the environment and objects.
The antagonists in this series are the Byogens whose main goal is to infect the garden and slowly poison the Earth.
Their primary weapon is using Megabyogens that are summoned by any member of the Byogens by possessing an Element Spirit. The only way to purify it is by removing the Element Spirit from the Megabyogen.
III. Setting
The show is based in two simultaneous settings -The Healing Garden and Earth. The art is rather unique with the backgrounds looking like watercolor paintings that only add to the charm.
IV. Theme Songs
The opening song for the series is Healin’ Good PreCure Touch by Rie Kitagawa. The song has a catchy and cheerful ring to it, matching the whole concept of the characters.
Miracle and a Link Ring by is the ending song for the anime.

Healin’ Good Pretty Cure has a theme that identifies with health, nature, and animals. The series’ cheery narration, serious and emotional moments for the characters, and their diverse personalities give the show a great sense of depth.
The series tackles the subject of chronic illness and mental health in a wonderful way that can be understood by its audience.
