Bungou to Alchemist: Shinpan no Haguruma definitely looks like it was done by a studio with some talented animators and that can be seen in every episode so far. The designs of the characters are impressive and the settings give life to the stories they are set in.

Bungo to Alchemist: Shinpan no Haguruma is definitely worth watching. The show has an interesting plot that blends Japanese literature with action and adventure.
The protagonists are real-life famous Japanese writers who have been brought back to life in the anime to fight against an evil that chooses to erase books off the face of the earth by invading the books and destroying them.
The animation is pretty smooth as well. If you want to watch a new show with a unique storyline then this is the show for you.
I. Plot
The main plot is based on Bungo to Alchemist: Shinpan no Haguruma is a show about reincarnated famous Japanese writers and their adventure as they “delve” into tainted books.
An evil force called the “Taints”, who are described as an evil force that takes over the world inside the book and manipulates it at their own will and make them disappear from the reality itself. The writers who have been reincarnated, delve into these tainted books and battle against the taints.
II.Characters
The protagonists in this series are a group of renowned real-world Japanese writers who have been reincarnated to fight the evil known as the “Taints”, that have the ability to destroy a book by entering the world created within its pages and making it disappear from reality.
We are introduced to Osamu Dazai in the first episode as one of the protagonists constantly jumping between quippy one-liners and more serious, emotional outbursts.
Ryuunoskuke Akutagawa is another member among the group of protagonists introduced to us in the first episode that a lot of focus is directed towards. He seems to have a dry and cool expression on his face accompanied by charisma.
Osamu Danzai and Ryuunoskuke Akutagawa have saved “Run, Melos!” from the clutches of the Taints and returned to their group. In the second episode, we are further introduced to more famous reincarnated authors such as Chuuya Nakahara, Shuzei Tokuda, and Toson Shimazaki.
These reborn writers save the day by using their special abilities to delve into such tainted books and save the books by defeating the taints within them.
The main goal for the characters in this show is to put everything on the line for the sake of saving the literature of this world.
The reincarnated Japanese writers give have been created with such different personalities making them easier to distinguish and adding their own impression to the story.
III. Setting
The whole setting of this show revolves around the idea that “A world without literature would be a boring place.”
Each episode gives rise to a new world within a great literary work with respect to the literature in which the protagonists are fighting the taints.
The action part, in which the delvers purify the tainted, the ones that want to ruin the whole plot, is praise-worthy.
IV. Theme Songs
The opening theme song for the series is Goodbye by Urashimasakatasen. The song along with its artistic visuals makes for a great way to get the show going.
Yabu no Naka Synthesis by Nanjou Yoshino is the ending theme of the song. The OP and EP are really good and the background score also fits with the show’s environment.
