A-Train, one of the key members of The Seven in The Boys, is a parody of Flash. It’s no surprise, but The Boys is known for its satirical take on some of the biggest superheroes we’ve known, and DC’s Flash has made the cut too.
The show has gained quite some following, and fans of Marvel and DC love this take on superheroes as well. With such an ardent following comes some comparisons and questions.
In the case of A-Train and Flash, the question is rather obvious. Who is faster: A-Train or Flash? Is the parody a better speedster than the OG itself? Well, we’ve got your answers.
Flash is much faster than A-Train. This is because flash can travel at the speed of light, whereas A-Train can travel only at the speed of sound.
Both Flash and A-Train are speedsters in their universes. However, Flash is far superior to A-Train in every right. When it comes to speed, though, it is official that A-Train’s maximum speed is Mach 1.3. This is much slower than that of Flash.
But, this isn’t the only difference between them. There are differences in the kind of powers they have as well. Let me list them all down for you.
Differences Between A-Train and Flash
Power Origins
Flash got his power from the speed force. It is a different dimension created with dark matter. Flash got access to this when he got struck by lightning. This lightning was caused by a particle accelerator experimenting with dark matter at the time.
On the other hand, A-Train got his powers from Compound V. While Flash doesn’t need to refill his power all the time, A-Train does. So if A-Train doesn’t take V periodically, he loses his powers.
Strength
Flash is one of the strongest superheroes. He has been in battles with Superman and numerous other enhanced beings and left without a scratch. He is highly durable even for supervillains and can cause more significant damage in any fight.
A-Train doesn’t have as much strength. We’ve seen this time and again. Kimiko easily broke his leg, and Starlight can annihilate him anytime she wants.
Number of Powers
Flash isn’t a one-trick pony. He has powers such as moving through opaque objects, invisibility, aerokinesis, and electrokinesis. In this, invisibility is essentially a trick where he moves so fast that the naked eye can’t perceive him.
A-Train only has the power of speed and enhanced metabolism. There isn’t much he can do, so seasons 2 and 3 have been an uphill struggle for him. What makes it worse is that he can’t even run anymore. His injury caused this, and his abuse of Compound V will lead to his heart exploding.
All this leads me to the question of who would win in a fight between A-Train and Flash?
A-Train V/S Flash: Who would win in a Battle?
Flash would win in a fight with A-Train. Flash is stronger, faster, and has more powers than A-Train, making him the clear winner in a face-off between him and A-Train.
While the above differences clearly highlight who the winner between the two would be, let’s dive in a little deeper into how it might transpire. If the two ever got into a fight, A-Train won’t last 10 seconds in a fight.
Considering Flash is faster, it’d take him a split second to charge towards A-Train and knock him out with a single punch. Even if A-Train dodges this by sheer luck, Flash could pull out the invisibility trick and literally pass through A-Train.
If the latter happens, it would be pretty poetic because this is how we’re introduced to the A-Train in The Boys. He literally runs through Hughie’s then-girlfriend, and she explodes into a million fragments.
Overall, there’s no doubt that A-Train can never reach Flash’s level and will be defeated by the latter in every way possible.
