Lina was given permission to use Brionac and was appointed to kill Tatsuya, but little did she know that her opponent is way more powerful than she imagined and he isn’t called god of destruction for no reason.
He even removed all traces of their fight and eliminated the data, staff and all the witnesses, which made her believe that he’s an Illusion Master.
With her entire team presumably dead, fans are wondering what Lina is going to do now. While we anticipate the next episode with an answer to this question, here are updates on the same.

2. Episode 8 Discussions
At the end of last episode, we see Lina call the control room to report about Tatsuya, but that dials to an empty control room with no one to answer.
It seems that it was Yotsubas, since Tatsuya called the family butler and he said they would take care of USNA.
Another take is that because Tatsuya provided his affiliation with proof of USNA’s international aggression, coupled with the fact that Lina abandoned her mission, USNA packed and cut ties with Lina as she could no longer be trusted by them.
3. Episode 9 Recap
I. February 15, 2096
Tatsuya, Miyuki and others come to check Pixie as the Robotics Club reported that high density Psions were detected from P94’s body that morning. Tatsuya asks Mizuki to take a look inside Pixie and Mikihiko to be on guard for any major injuries.
Mizuki finds a Parasite inside her body and notices that it is under the influence of Honoka’s thought waves. Parasite starts communicating with everyone with telepathy.
Parasite reveals that it has been awakened by Honoka’s thoughts as they are drawn to strong and highly pure thoughts.
Since she awaked by pure thoughts of Honoka, she wishes to serve Tatsuya and follow his orders. Tatsuya forbids it to use psychic powers and telekinesis without his permission.
Later at night, Tatsuya drops off Miyuki to her piano class and waits in a nearby restaurant, where he is attacked by the Stardust Unit. He easily takes them out, but as he takes them out, Lina attacks him from behind with Heavy Metal Bust.
He evades the attack and follows Lina to park. Lina was no match for him, even with Brionac and he easily defeats her. After rendering her unconscious, he heals her wounds and takes out all possible traces of that fight happening.

The Irregular at Magic High School is based on a web novel series by Tsutomu Sato, published on an internet web novel website between 2008 and 2011.
The series is set in a world with an alternate history, where magic exists and has been polished through modern technology. However, the ability to use magic is determined by genetics, limiting the number of magicians in existence.
