Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei turned to an anime-original story after diverting from the light novel, and fans are not happy with the pacing of it.

Fumiya and Ayako successfully stopped the New Breed Front from cutting off the power supply, but the terrorists moved on with another plan and hijacked the tower.

Now that Tatsuya is also present at the party, he will aid Sakurai and Hayama to restrain the terrorists. Looks like hoping for nothing bad to happen was too much to ask for.

The peculiar reaction of Miyuki on greeting Sakurai left the anime-only fans questioning as the anime skipped an entire volume of the light novel involving her, but don’t fret, as we are here to clear out the things.

As mentioned in the episode, Sakurai is the niece of Honami, who was Miya’s (Maya’s sister) former bodyguard. As described, she looks very much like a younger version of that bodyguard.

I. April 6, 2096

Ayako and Fumiya, siblings from the Kuroba Family, a branch family of Yotsuba’s, arrive at Tokyo to get intel on the New Breed Front’s headquarters and their source of funding.

As they discuss their plan of action, Fumiya shares his desire to also stop the terrorists attack, but Ayako refuses and asks to stick to the plan of gathering intel.

II. April 7, 2096

At the invitation of Honoka and Shizuku, Tatsuya and Miyuki attend the Tokyo Offshore Tower’s inauguration party. However, there they are also greeted by an unexpected guest, Hayama.

Ayako and Fumiya carry on with their mission to detain agents of the New Breed Front. Fumiya even disguises himself as a girl, Yumi. They flourishingly capture two agents disguised as utility workers, trying to cut off the power supply of Tokyo Offshore Tower.

Tatsuya notices Ayako and Fumiya fighting the New Breed Front from the tower and is impresses by their skillful execution of the plan. But learning that their agents failed to cut the cable, New Breed Front executes their back up plan.

They hijack the control center on the first underground floor by taking out the security guards and declares that Magicians are being used as slave labor deep in the bowels of the building. As a sign of protest, they are going to set off a bomb in the tower in an hour, but if someone tries to interfere, they will blow up the place immediately.

The series is set in a world with an alternate history, where magic exists and has been polished through modern technology. However, the ability to use magic is determined by genetics, limiting the number of magicians in existence.
