Intel’s 13th Gen Core series is scheduled for launch sometime in Q4 this year. However, the products have become unofficially available months before their release.
A sample of Intel’s Core i9-13900K CPU processor was spotted on sale on the Chinese black market.
According to the description, the Core i9-13900K CPU is utilized on an ASUS Z690 ROG APEX motherboard. The card successfully boots and supports overclocking.
Since the details are censored, it cannot be confirmed, but the sample seems to be a full Raptor Lake silicon featuring 8 Raptor Cove (large) cores and 16 Gracemont (small) cores with 32 threads. The sample card was sold at the cost of $426.
The rectangular Intel logo on the chiplet indicates it was manufactured this year.
Products go through many changes in the production cycle before settling on a final design. The discarded items end up on auction sites for anyone interested. Even though those should end up with Intel, these samples find their way elsewhere on Chinese retail sites.
Intel is expected to launch the 13th Gen series in October, with the flagship i9-13900K CPU releasing first.
