Intel Raptor Lake CPUs Rumored to Have Clock Speeds Up to 6.2 GHz

New details regarding Intel’s 14th Gen Raptor Lake Desktop CPU family have started to surface. It’s slated to debut in the third quarter of this year, and it’ll be supported by existing LGA 1700 platforms.

The Raptor Lake family is rumored to include 8+16 core configurations, and it’ll feature some new SKUs, which are a 6+8 and a 2+8 SKU configuration. Keep in mind that these might not be actual launch SKUs but simply internal test drivers.

Moore’s Law Is Dead has revealed that Intel will focus on increasing the clock speeds of the upcoming 14th Gen Raptor Lake chips. The highest Raptor Lake CPU is rumored to boost up to 6.2 GHz and an even better variant might be released too which could boost up to 6.5 GHz.

Intel is determined to increase the clock speeds of the 14th Gen Raptor Lake chips over the 13th Gen Raptor Lake chips. The Core i9-13900K peaks at 5.8 GHz, and the 13900KS peaks at 6.0 GHz, so the 6.2 GHz of the 14th Gen chips will be a 7% increase and a 3% increase respectively. They are listed below:

  • Intel Raptor Lake Peak Clock – 5.8-6.0 GHz
  • Intel Raptor Lake Refresh Peak Clock – 6.2-6.5 GHz

We don’t know when more information will be revealed regarding the company’s desktop plans, but Intel is hosting its upcoming Vision event on May 9th, so we might get some information there. Rumor has it, the 14th Gen Raptor Lake chips will have an entirely different naming scheme, so we might find out more about them on the 9th.
