There’s going to be Serenity Now! in your life since you’ve decided to finally catch Seinfeld – this epic sitcom and cultural phenomenon that had made all the 80s kids laugh. Well, better late than never. If you’re wondering what the correct watch order is, we’ve got your back!
Seinfeld can be watched in the production order itself since the narrative is linear across the nine seasons.
That’s right! You can watch all the 180 episodes across 9 seasons in the order in which they were released. The story of each of the four protagonists progresses linearly, and the continuity is maintained.
Is It Worth Watching?
Absolutely! Seinfeld is a cult classic that was perhaps one of the most popular shows of the late 80s and 90s. Jerry Seinfeld plays a fictional version of himself and is joined by Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine Benes, Jason Alexander as George Costanza, and Michael Richards as Kramer.
The show is definitely a binge-worthy watch as it’ll keep you engaged throughout the nine seasons. However, the writing in some places isn’t as excellent as the rest of the show. It’s moderate but tolerable. I think this could be the case with most sitcoms that run for a really long time. Somewhere in the middle, the writing might not be as witty or smart, but of course, it does pick up later on.
Seasons That You Can Skip
Well, the first and perhaps even part of the second season can be skipped if you do not want to wait for the laughter. Simply because the writing isn’t established yet, the actors are still exploring character traits, and overall, things aren’t fully developed.
Only from the second half of the second season or third season does Seinfeld truly entertains us with witty punchlines, relatable premises, and even some moments with profound messages.
However, as a person who is a big fan of the show and its storytelling, I think you should watch the first two seasons even without the laughter. It adds to the journey, and you understand how the characters and the actors have both evolved and found their tone in this top-notch series!
Well, what are you still doing here? Go watch the show while I tune in to some of my favorite episodes and feel all nostalgic.
