In/Spectre’s first season was full of different cases concerning yokai while our protagonists, Kotoko and Kuro, were busy tracking down every anomaly. No one said preserving the line between reality and the supernatural would be easy.
Now that the second season of the series has been confirmed, Kotoko and Kuro’s relationship will progress from their combat duo status. You should also watch out for a new antagonist who will arise in the upcoming episodes.
The second season of the In/Spectre anime will be premiered in 2022. Since the first season was a Crunchyroll Originals production, the website is likely to stream season two as well.
A new trailer has been revealed for the upcoming season:
Although the trailer does not betray any scenes from season two, it does show some pretty cool moments between Kotoko and Kuro. New mysteries will start pouring in, one of them being a case where countless fishes wash up on the shoreline.
A new visual is also revealed where both the protagonists are shown surrounded by various types of yokai.

Season 2 of the anime will adapt the storyline from volume seven onwards of the manga. The original light novel still has enough content to be adapted.
I expect the upcoming season to follow the original storyline just like how season one did.
An unexpected antagonist will be appearing soon. While Kotoko and Kuro are busy solving various yokai cases, they will soon be sucked into a mystery surrounding Rikka.
On the brighter side, Kotoko will have to face the struggles of being a school student. She might be a yokai specialist, but even she needs to submit her homework on time.
About In/Spectre: Kyokou Suiri
In/Spectre (Kyoko Suiri) is a novel series written by Kyo Shirodaira and illustrated by Hiro Kyohara (Vol. 1) and Chasiba Katase (Vol. 2 onwards). A manga adaptation by Katase has also been serialized since April 2015. The series was adapted into an anime on January 11, 2020, with a second season arriving in 2023.
At the age of 11, Kotoko was kidnapped by youkai who made her an intermediary between the spirits and humans but at the price of her eye and leg.
Now, whenever youkai wish for their problems to be solved, they make their way to Kotoko for consultation. She is joined by Kuro, whom she falls for and may have a mysterious power hidden inside him.
