In/Spectre Season 2 Episode 10 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Kotoko brings out everyone’s confessions in the open in episode 9 of In/Spectre season 2, titled “Silent Children.”

Rion starts off the arc with an investigation into the murder of her mother 23 years ago and discusses the inheritance to be divided among the siblings. However, it is not a typical discussion especially considering they invited Kotoko to the scene.

The discussion eventually moves from a civilized distribution of the inheritance fairly among the siblings to confessing all their murderous plans and intents back from the past.

Kotoko finally brings out all their confessions to the past, allowing them all to be free of the guilt they’ve carried for 23 years. However, her intentions were not to reveal their plans but to get to the bottom of the situation.

She will likely reveal the details she has been withholding all this time and explain her theory on what happened, but she may also beat around the bush a little more and play with the victim’s siblings as she usually does.

The restaurant owner’s daughter, Rion, ponders what to do about her current situation as they investigate the murder of her mother and she is assigned to accuse her grandfather as the suspect. 

Kotoko is also present at the discussion on the invite from the Chairman, and she already brought her boyfriend Kuro dressed as an attendant. They also need to discuss the inheritance and offer to leave the room to discuss the rankings amongst themselves.

She leaves the room, and it immediately breaks out into talks and negotiation as they try and decide who deserves what in the inheritance without starting new conflicts simultaneously. Rion suggests that Uncle Koya take the first rank as it would be the most straightforward way out without upsetting much of the family.

All of them agree to the ranking and are surprised how easily they could decide, but now Rion begins thinking about the true motive behind her grandfather’s words and that there may have been some hidden meaning.

Kotoko returns to the room and says she is merely overthinking it and that just looking into the matter will give them the necessary answer. She also talks about the details of the murder and why it was brought to a dead end.

All her family members also had plausible motives to be the actual murderer, but they were all provided with alibis conveniently at the time. This could be the Chairman taking measures to protect them and help their case.

 They talk of each of their alibis. Kotoko slyly mentions how convenient it was for them to have such rock-solid alibis at the perfect time, which triggers Rion to accuse her of deliberately pointing fingers at the family, but Kotoko waves it away.

Kotoko says that even though the discussion about the inheritance was settled very peacefully, it could’ve been to resolve the matter quickly before something unfavorable was dug up. This prompts Uncle Koya to confess that he and his brother were planning the murder.

He talks of his initial plan and the faking of the alibi to carry out the murder, where everyone witnessed a public fight and could readily testify for them. He feels better that he got an opportunity to get it out and confess finally, and everyone moves on to the next suspect.

Kaoruko and her brother had also been plotting to kill her, and he finally confessed their plan, which was foiled by her broken leg. He did a lot of business deals at the time as an alibi, but she couldn’t finish the murder themselves.

In/Spectre (Kyoko Suiri) is a novel series written by Kyo Shirodaira and illustrated by Hiro Kyohara (Vol. 1) and Chasiba Katase (Vol. 2 onwards). A manga adaptation by Katase has also been serialized since April 2015. The series was adapted into an anime on January 11, 2020, with a second season arriving in 2023.

At the age of 11, Kotoko was kidnapped by youkai who made her an intermediary between the spirits and humans but at the price of her eye and leg.
