I’m Standing on a Million Lives Manga Reaches its Final Decisive Battle

‘I’m Standing on a Million Lives’ follows the story of Yuusuke Yotsuya, who has always despised Tokyo but dislikes its people even more. He would prefer to exist in a virtual world than interact with those around him.

At the end of one school day, he notices famous athlete Iu Shindou conversing with Kusue Hakozaki, but when he looks away from the two and looks back again, they have vanished.

Yotsuya enters a free-fall condition and the world around him shifts. He soon discovers that Shindou and Hakozaki have transported him into a gaming world and that he must finish a mission within 14 days.

On Friday, the July issue of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine revealed that Naoki Yamakawa and Akinari Nao’s I’m Standing on a Million Lives (100-Man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru) manga has reached its “final decisive battle.”

On June 9, 2016, the series debuted in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. Since then, chapters have been compiled by Kodansha into separate tankbon volumes. On October 7, 2016, the first volume was made accessible, and sixteen volumes are available as of March 9, 2023.

The manga was adapted into a television anime, with the first season premiering in October 2020. The anime finished production on all 12 episodes three months before its October premiere. The second season premiered in July 2021, and both seasons were streamed on Crunchyroll.

It’s safe to say that ‘I’m Standing on a Million Lives’ is about to conclude, and we may get a third season of the anime. Nevertheless, my fingers are crossed because I want this series to end on a good note.

About I’m Standing on a Million Lives

I’m Standing on a Million Lives is a manga written by Naoki Yamakawa and illustrated by Akinari Nao. The manga began serialization in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine on June 9, 2016.

The story revolves around Yotsuya Yuusuke, who is transported to another world along with his classmates Shindou Iu and Hakozaki Kusue.

Mythological creatures inhabit this new world. As soon as they arrive, they are greeted by the Game Master, who then grants them a time-limited quest.

Shindou and Hakozaki are given the roles of a Magician and a Warrior to aid the quest. But Yotsuya is randomly assigned the role of a Farmer.

Hence they begin their Isekai adventure for the three, with Yotsuya’s farmer class being the odd one. They must do random quests and defeat monsters they encounter.
