I’m Quitting Heroing Ep 8: Release Date, Speculation

All that Leo wants to do now is to let the Queen know of his identity. Guilt has been weighing him down ever since she lay all her feelings bare before him which revealed that the Queen wasn’t so evil after all.

A new problem plagues the Demon Queen’s army. Edvard gives up on taking his own life but decides that his days as a general in the army are over, due to his incompetence.

His tantrum leaves a void that the Queen would have never filled in a million years, therefore, making it just another issue on Leo’s hands that he needs to take care of to get in the good books of the queen before he makes the plunge to have that long-awaited discussion.

Episode 8 Speculations

Episode 7 showcased some relics of the past made by humans during the Machine Age to fight the demons as well as Leo’s mighty grasp over the human (demon?) emotion as he manipulates Edvard into realizing his mistakes.

On the other hand, the stories of the past have already reached the ears of the rest of the generals who seem to be going along with his charade for now but for how long?

The preview for the next episode showed a grim-looking Leo in a dusty robe, pulling his hood to cover his face and walking off. This could imply that Leo is found out by the Demon Queen and shunned because we know that she had summoned “Onyx” as soon as he took care of Edvard.

Leo could have also left off of his own accord but that seems highly unlikely.

Episode 8 Release Date

Episode 8 of the I’m Quitting Heroing anime has been released on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

Episode 7 Recap

Julietta is worried about her father, General Edvard’s mental state as he feels he is an incompetent leader and the failure of his troops is a reflection of his own incompetency.

Leo and Julietta come to the conclusion that this is due to the fact that Edvard being a gifted warrior since birth, expects everyone to be at his level. This cannot be the case as the average soldier is nowhere near as strong as the mighty General himself.

He constantly pushed his troops on extremely dangerous missions and later took the blame for their losses on himself thus ending up depressed.

Leo takes it upon himself to solve this issue as well but is perplexed until an idea presents itself. Before he can act on it, he is summoned by the Queen herself who delivers the shocker that Edvard had stepped down and was now a mere foot soldier only adding to the problem.

Leo promises to take care of it even though the Queen is hesitant. Right before he leaves, she tells him to come to talk to her after this was taken care of.

Leo’s idea was to have the new General, Julietta, take the battalion containing Edvard and get attacked by one of the Machine Golems, relics of the past made to fight demons, found in the mines.

The plan is set in motion and a Machine Golem attacks the troops. Edvard is forced to step forward under Leo’s supervision as he instructs Edvard to victory.

Leo then pretends to scream at Edvard telling him that he is incompetent in not knowing about the weapons of the past and that it was all because he wasn’t trying hard enough. The same words he had used on his troops when they failed the extremely dangerous training scenario he had set up.

Edvard realizes his mistake and apologizes to his troops who ask him to raise his head and lead them to glory as he always had.

With the immediate problems solved, we can finally focus on the bigger picture. The queen seems to have caught a whiff of something while Leo seems to have an agenda of his own.
