In the tenth episode of “I’m Quitting Heroing”, Leo has finally snapped, or has he?
The bioweapon who was created with the sole purpose of saving humanity, after three thousand years, has decided that he has had enough of this vicious cycle now.
Leo is afraid that if he goes on any longer then the very mission that he was created for will trump whatever semblance of humanity he has developed over his lifespan. He fears that if he is left unchecked any longer then he would become the very instigator of artificial strife simply for the opportunity to quell it.
He has decided to bait the Demon Queen and her generals with the Philosopher’s Stone that acts as his heart to incentivize killing him. The prize is right there before them but the Demons seem impossibly under-equipped for this operation.
Episode 11 Speculations
Episode 10 ends with the Demon Queen Echidna’s special spell hitting Leo, but we do not know what effect it may have.
Judging from what Leo has demonstrated so far, it seems highly improbable that it would do anything at all, but maybe subverting expectations is what the anime s trying to do.
It is unlikely that Leo will have a change of heart and stop his mad descent into villainy however that is where the anime takes us then I am very interested in seeing how they go about it.
This recent development in Leo’s character, although not the most wholesome one, acts as a very fun twist to the overarching story, and I personally hope that he sees it to the bitter end.

Episode 10 Recap
Leo revealed that the location of the second Philosopher’s Stone was quite literally inside him. The stone acted as his heart and was actively keeping him alive. This meant that if Echidna really did want the stone, she would have to defeat him and pull it out of his chest.
With this revelation, Leo’s character does a complete one-eighty degree turn. He proclaims that he is the villain in this story, and the very reason for his existence is to save humanity, and he would purposefully never let peace stay or long.
To fulfill his purpose, he needed conflict and would manifest it whenever peace would overstay its welcome.
The four generals present there, along with the Demon Queen Echidna, are not only surprised but devastated at this sudden development. They know that fighting Leo is futile, so they actively try to defend against his flurry of blows, avoiding fatal damage by mere hairs’ breadths.
Neither their attacks nor their words get to him until Lily implores him to stop the act he was putting up and talk about what is wrong with him. Leo stops for a second but then immediately hits her with magic that knocks her out.
This move by Leo spurns everyone else into going all out in the battle. The four generals attack him one after the other. First goes Edvard, who is knocked out instantly. He is followed by Mernes, who is successful in landing a hit but is taken down just as swiftly.
Somewhere in the middle of that battle, Lily regains consciousness and decides to go for a frontal assault, but she too is swatted away.
Echidna realizes that her only hope is taking a gamble and use a secret spell that she has never utilized. Echidna asks Shutina to distract him for 42 seconds which she successfully does.
Echidna prepares the spell and hits Leo with it, who does not even attempt to dodge. We are yet to know if the spell does any damage whatsoever, but we can only hope
