3. Recap of Episode 8
Episode 8 of ‘I’m In Love With The Villainess’ is titled “The Swirling Currents Are All Machinations.” Rae, Claire, and Misha wait outside the clinic where Matt is being treated. After getting attacked by a noble in the Commoner’s Movement, he is gravely injured.
Claire thinks he forgot his place as a commoner and might have said something offensive. According to Claire, Matt had it coming. Rae asks if it would have been alright if positions were switched, leaving Claire speechless. Rae immediately lightens the mood, giving up on making Claire understand.
The trio are called in to see Matt. Rae asks Matt if he can answer her questions, but he refuses. He thinks even commoner Knights will side with the nobles. However, Misha convinces him to tell the truth so they can help him.
Matt reveals that he was talking to Prince Yu when his attendant, Master Dede, interrupted. Matt got enraged and called nobles ‘parasites.’ The next thing he remembers is being on the clinic bed. Meanwhile, Yu is interrogating Dede, who reveals that he was only trying to intimidate Matt. He had no intention of using magic to attack him.
Yu asks where Dede’s wand is and is told that it has been confiscated. The incident has spread outside the school, and protest has started. The rest of the Knights assemble. Rod tells Yu it was careless of him to meet Matt. Yu says, ‘All and equal before God,’ so he had to.
Prince Yu symbolizes the Church, and the Church’s teachings line with the Commoner Movement. Matt went to Yu in hopes of convincing him to help. The Knights plan to split up and talk to the students. Rae asks Claire to give her head pats so she can do her best. Feeling pressured by all the princes, Claire gives in.
Dede’s punishment is announced a week later. He is put on house arrest for a week, which further enrages commoner students. Even Claire is shocked at the outcome. The nobles who were against the Commoner Movement requested a reduced sentence.
The President asks if Yu can talk to his mother, the queen. However, Yu reveals that she refused. The princes almost argue over this, but Claire stops them. She thinks the main motive of the Church might be to cause a rift among them. When they return to their room, Rae asks Claire not to leave her room until the next morning.
Claire refuses Rae’s request. Rae uses a sleeping spell on Claire and tells Lene to stay with her until tomorrow. The school gates will be broken down tonight, so Rae is trusting Claire with Lene. As Rae said, the gate is broken, and commoners stream in. However, the princes are ready to fight.
Rae waits for Lambert when he sneaks in to get the monster-controlling bell. She accuses him of being the reason behind Dede’s wand malfunction. As a magic tool specialist, he also got away with it. While Rae explains her reasoning, Lene shows up, threatening to kill Claire.
Ralaire knocks the knife out of Lene’s hand, and Claire wakes up. As the siblings are cornered, a masked man shows up to help Lambart. Lambart summons a Chimera monster to attack nobles. Claire and Rae prepare to fight the Chimera.
