We all like heroes, but most of us love villains. Though it may sound weird, villains are so cool because, in all honesty, they don’t play by the rules; nothing holds them back, and they do what needs to be done. Well, if you fall for the villains, then I would like to recommend the novel series “I’m in Love with the Villainess.”
Written by Inori and illustrated by Hanagata, the story is all about the romance between our hero and the main antagonist of the series, and it is now getting an anime adaptation.
On Friday, the previously announced “I’m in Love With the Villainess” anime released its debut promotional trailer, more cast members, and key images. The anime is scheduled to be released this October.
In the latest visual, we can see two new characters in the background, Misha Yule and Rene Orso, and the additional cast that was revealed along with the promo and key visual:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Misha Jur | Aimi | Blue (Magical Destroyers) |
Misha Jur | Ikumi Hasegawa | Kita (BOCCHI THE ROCK!) |
Loretta Kugret | Sara Matsumoto | Towa (Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon) |
Pepi Barlier | Sara Matsumoto | Thora (VINLAND SAGA) |
Any anime adaptation news would be incomplete without the names of the people working on I’m in Love with the Villainess:
Position | Staff | Other Works |
Director | Hideaki Oba | Love of Kill |
Scriptwriter | Ayumu Hisao | Devils’ Line |
Character Designer | Youko Satou | 7SEEDS |
Sound Director | Hajime Takakuwa | Rent-A-Girlfriend |
Music Composer | Noriyuki Asakura, Usagi to Uma | Knights of Sidonia |
Animation Production | Platinum Vision | Servamp |
I’m in Love with the Villainess does not follow the generic plot of Isekai and Otome games, and that’s the reason for its massive popularity. With such a great staff lineup, I’m pretty sure the anime won’t lack anywhere in animation and overall effects.
About I’m in Love with the Villainess
I’m in Love with the Villainess (Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijō) is a yuri isekai light novel series written by Inori and illustrated by Hanagata. It began serialization in January 2018, received a manga adaptation in June 2020, and is slated for a TV anime in 2023.
The story follows an ordinary office worker, Oohashi Rei, who is reincarnated as the protagonist of her favorite otome game, Revolution. However, Rei is not interested in the original story and instead sets out to romance her favorite character and the game’s antagonist, Claire Francois.
