The upcoming “iDOLM@STER Million Live” event titled “7th LIVE Q@MP FLYER!!! Reburn” suffered a huge blow as one of the performers will not be able to attend the spectacular show.
One of the most successful musical franchises of all time, The Idolmaster has inspired several video games, social media games, anime, and even a TV drama series.
The original video game was released back in 2005 and is available across several gaming platforms. The franchise features several songs of various genres performed by a group of Japanese idols.
The official website of “THE iDOLM@STER” revealed that Megumi Toda would miss the “7th LIVE Q@MP FLYER!!! Reburn” event scheduled on May 22-23.
Toda plays the role of Ayumu Maihama and was scheduled to appear on Day 2 of the event on May 23. But, due to myofascial low back pain and lumbar radiculopathy, she won’t be able to attend the event. Her medical condition prevents her from performing while standing.
The organizers also announced that no substitute performer would take Toda’s place at the event. They also revealed no refund in tickets will be available due to the change in the performers’ lineup.
The event is scheduled to take place at Fujikyu Highland Conifer Forest at Fujiyoshida City in Yamanashi Prefecture.
Like most parts of Japan, Yamanashi has also seen a rise in the number of coronavirus cases. With the country pushing for a fourth state of emergency, the organizers of the Idolmaster Live event are considering other alternatives as well.
The upcoming iDOLM@STER Million Live Event may get canceled if stricter COVID-19 guidelines are implemented in Japan.
In such a case, an alternate event at a later date may be arranged by the authorities. Also, the event shifting to an online platform is a possibility.
We pray for Toda’s speedy recovery and hope that the authorities and management find the best possible solution if the live event is canceled.
