‘I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World’ is the tale of an underdog’s lucky break. Yuuya, the class loser, used to get bullied daily and is even hated by his family.
When his only ally, his grandpa, passes away, he is left with a huge inheritance. Can a simple inheritance solve all his social and personal issues, though? Turns out, a magical inheritance really can change your life.
‘I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World,’ the light novel series by Miku and Rein Kuwashima, has been greenlit for an anime adaptation. You can check out the latest promotional video for the anime right here:
The video looks more like a game trailer than an anime one. Setting that aside, it explains how Yuuya opened a mysterious door at his grandpa’s house and got transported to a mysterious world.
Now, this has got to be the coolest grandpa on Earth to keep isekai gateways and magic weapons in his basement. Thanks to him, Yuuya not only gets an awesome new world to live in but also a brand-new body in perfect condition. (Don’t we all just wish for this miracle?)
Several new visuals and illustrations have been revealed to commemorate the announcement of the anime, and you can check them all out here:
The first visual shows Yuuya in front of the isekai door. After discovering this door, his life will take a quick turn.
Rein Kuwashima, the illustrator of the ‘I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World’ novel, has also drawn a new illustration showing Kaori Houjo, a high schooler in Yuuya’s real world.
The second illustration is by the series’ manga adaptation artist, Kazuomi Minatogawa. It features a princess from the isekai world.
Like I said, ‘I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World’ is the rags-to-riches story of a bullied kid. Yuuya comes across this miracle, but can he really take this lifestyle change? Let’s see if this sudden upscaling of things will get to his head.
