Akira Tendou, an exploited corporate worker, felt the thrill of being alive for the first time after a long time during a zombie apocalypse. Instead of being scared and hiding, Tendou goes on to complete a bucket list, and you can read all about it in the ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead’ manga.
Recently, rumors were flying around that the manga is receiving an anime, and it turns out they were true.
Viz Media has confirmed with a trailer that the ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead’ manga has been slated to receive a TV anime adaptation.
In addition, Hulu will stream the anime series in the US in July. More information on its global release will be out soon.
The 1-minute English-subtitled trailer begins by showing how Akira used to be an energetic youth who started working with great enthusiasm. Over time, he realized how exploitative the work environment is, slowly killing his will to live and draining him of all energy.
Akira was no better than an undead with a corporate routine that had been driven to madness enough for him not to care until one day when a zombie apocalypse happened.
At first, Akira started to look for a place to run and hide, only to realize that a zombie breakout meant that his office days were over. This sparks a wave of thrill and hope in Akira as he is now finally free and can live his life on his terms.
Moreover, the trailer has also revealed that Shūichirō Umeda will voice the character of Akira Tendou. Umeda has previously played the role of Izumi in ‘Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie,’ and I’m looking forward to seeing his work as Akira too.
Besides Hulu, Viz Media has licensed the anime North America, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand. The company will reveal streaming services for all the territories at a later date.
Until then, the manga is available on Viz Media’s official website, and I highly suggest you check it out.
