Most of the survivors took refuge in the Tokyo empire as it was somewhat stable compared to the rest of the inhabitable places.

Some areas, like the Chinese peninsula, has intoxicating gas permeating the surface along with talking animals and sprawling with infernals who once humans were but fell victim to the phenomenon of Spontaneous Human Combustion.

However, the Great Cataclysm was a mere failure as she couldn’t achieve her main goal of engulfing the world in flames and turning it into a second sun as she lacked pillars.

Who are the pillars, you ask?

The Pillars are individuals who wield the Adolla Burst, a pristine and unblemished flame said to have originated from Adolla. It is also known as the original or the Genesis Flame.

These pillars are exceptional beings and are thought to be descendants of the Sun God’s lineage.

The world in Fire Force is connected to the realm of Adolla through infernals and their respective Doppelgangers due to the horrid phenomenon of Spontaneous Human Combustion along with the Adolla Link.
