How To Watch ReLIFE? Easy Watch Order Guide

ReLIFE is a slice of life anime that stands out (in a good way) from the rest of the shows in the genre. It presents a unique story with realistic characters in an easy to follow way.

The show will need your attention, though, you can’t use it as a background while browsing social media.

ReLIFE has one season and two specials. The special is rushed and not that well-executed as compared to the series. If you’re willing to check out the manga, do not watch the specials.

ReLIFE was a show that gained a lot of attention when it first started airing in 2016 and for a good reason.

On the surface, it seems like the anime is a copy of 17 again, but unlike the film, the characters are more nuanced, and the story is more fleshed out and mature.

5. How much Time Will It Take To Watch?

It will take you 6 hours and 35 minutes to watch all the installments in ReLIFE.

This includes all the TV series and specials.

Here’s a quick list of each installment and their run time in order of their release:

  • ReLIFE – 4 hours and 59 minutes
  • ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen – 1 hour and 32 minutes
  • ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen Specials – 4 minutes

6. Manga After Anime

If you’re interested in reading the manga of ReLIFE, then you should begin reading from chapter 98. Chapter 98 covers the last arc in the TV series differently, so it’ll be better if you read it as well.

Do not watch the 4 special episodes after watching the TV series. The specials will spoil the ending since it brushes over most of the chapters and jumps right onto the end.

7. Quick Review

I. Story

ReLIFE has a relatively simple story with a few subplots often going on at the same time.

The story does not dwell on a single issue and keeps switching the perspectives of the ongoing plot. The pace is fast enough to keep the viewers engaged.

II. Characters

The characters in ReLIFE are realistic. Unlike many anime featuring otaku protagonists, ReLIFE offers a main character who has been through it all and is just a regular guy stuck in a bad situation.

His actions are reminiscent of his adult habits, which sometimes cause him trouble.

Other main characters have distinct personalities, but none of them are archetypical caricatures of generic anime tropes.

Everyone has an important role to play even when they’re not the main center of the plot.

III. Animation

Apart from the character designs, the animation is nothing special. It does the primary task of conveying the story but doesn’t have extremely stunning sequences.

IV. Sound

ReLIFE has brilliant music that conveys the emotions and intensity of serious moments. The opening and closing themes are catchy initially, but they quickly lose their charm by the fourth or fifth episode.
