Beginning with Charlton Heston’s portrayal in the original films and continuing with Andy Serkis in the prequel trilogy, the Planet of the Apes movies boast a rich timeline, made even more intricate by the ill-fated Tim Burton project in 2001 and the highly anticipated Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Drawing inspiration from the novel Le Planete des singes by French author Pierre Boulle, the 1968 film has cemented its place in cinema history as a groundbreaking science fiction masterpiece.
