Simple, get a Netflix subscription. Now, I never said you could watch Cobra Kai for free but just without YouTube Red. However, it may be true that parts of Cobra Kai are available for free on YouTube.
But with a Netflix subscription, you can not only watch the first two seasons, but also the third one which is set to arrive exclusively on Netflix.
1. Why you don’t Need YouTube Red?
Starting August 28, 2020, both seasons of Cobra Kai have been made available on Netflix. The merciless streaming giant swooped in fast and secured the most popular reboot ever made, for itself.
The third season of Cobra Kai is in the works, according to series creator Jon Hurwitz, and it’ll be available exclusively on Netflix when it debuts in 2021, Business Insider reported.
2. How to Watch Cobra Kai on YouTube?
Realizing the importance of opening up its original content to advertisers, YouTube had decided in 2019 it would try and bring out its best Original content from behind the paywall.
In its rookie season, “Cobra Kai” received 11 award nominations (including an Emmy nomination), the Golden Tomato Award for Best TV Drama and a 100-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes – making it the highest-reviewed reboot of all time.
The massive success of this reboot of the hit 1984 coming-of-age material arts tale, The Karate Kid, even forced YouTube to reconsider paywall on its best content.
And just after its season two premiere last week, which reached 20 million views in six days, Parrot Analytics confirmed Cobra Kai is the most in-demand digital original series in the world right now.
It was later announced that all new YouTube Original series and specials will soon be available for fans around the world to watch for free with ads — just like other content on the platform. The promise was fulfilled albeit for a limited time in 2019.
The first two episodes of season 1 and only the first one of season 2 are still free to watch for all on YouTube sans a Premium subscription.
Per YouTube, this gives advertisers more opportunities to engage with a broader audience, drive meaningful results and align with top Hollywood talent and YouTube creators.
3. How to Watch “The Karate Kid” Movies
If you’re interested in catching up on the Karate Kid movies, there’s bad news and some good news. The bad news is that all three movies have already left Netflix on August 31.
They are, however, available to rent on platforms like Apple TV, Vudu, FandangoNow, Amazon and Google Play.
Good news is you only need to watch the first part, if you haven’t already every one of the gazillion times it has been on TV. (Personally, I know the film scene-by-scene.)
Especially if you’re a new fan, definitely rent the first and only the first Karate Kid movie. Not only does Cobra Kai continue from the end of the first film, it is also the only one worth watching of the three.
