Black Myth: Wukong follows the journey of The Destined One filled with adventure and extreme danger. In every corner of the world, players will find a tough boss who can take them out if they are not skilled enough or don’t have good sturdy armor.
The game has a wide arsenal of armor but they can also be upgraded when you reach a certain stage. This way you get to keep your favorite armor without compromising the stats on that beauty.
1. How to upgrade armor in Black Myth: Wukong?
The armor can be upgraded by the NPC blacksmith Yin Tiger in the Zodiac Village which can be accessed in Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong. The Village will be accessible once players receive the Ruyi Scroll from Chen Loong.
There are certain prerequisites to getting to the Zodiac Village. The major one is that you have to complete Chen Loong’s quest in order to receive the Ruyi Scroll from him, which will transport you to the required village and the blacksmith in question.
2. How to complete Chen Loong’s quest in Black Myth: Wukong?
Chen Loong’s quest can be completed after defeating him in a boss fight and bringing him resurrection pills to quell his pain. These pills are in the hand of an NPC named Xu Dog.
Chen Loong can be found in the north of the “North Shrine of the Bitter Lake” Keeper’s Shrine in Chapter 3. You will find him near a hut close to the waters. Get close to him and a boss fight will initiate. Defeat him and he will become a feeble dragon requesting you to get him some resurrection pills.
3. Finding the Resurrection Pills for Chen Loong and Visiting Zodiac Village
Xu Dog can be found near the Cellar Shrine in the Crouching Tiger Temple in Chapter 2 of the Black Myth: Wukong. Initiating a dialogue with him get players the specially-made bone-strengthening Pellet, which can be given to Chen Loong.
Fast Travel to the Shrine and speak with Xu Dog. After you get the pills, take them to Chen Loong and he will offer you a Ruyi Scroll in exchange, completing Chen Loong’s quest. Open the scroll and it will take you to the Painted Realm where you can find the Zodiac Village.
Get to the market hub of the village filled with merchants and find the blacksmith Yin Tiger. He will craft all kinds of armor and gear for you. This will also unlock the option to upgrade your armor at his shop.
4. Upgrading Armor in Black Myth: Wukong
To upgrade the armor in Black Myth: Wukong-
- Visit the blacksmith Yin Tiger in Zodiac Village.
- Select the ‘Craft’ option.
- Scroll down to the ‘Upgrade Armor’ option.
- Select the Armor or Gear to Upgrade.
- Exchange the required items and upgrade the armor.
Once you find the required blacksmith, upgrading armor is no big job. Just collect the required items and Will currency to do it. Refined Iron Sand and Fine Gold Thread are great items to help you craft and upgrade some of the best armor in the game.
