In the chaotic world of Helldivers 2, you need every bit of firepower that you can ask for. The robust weapons and Stratagems are one thing, but you will also need to effectively use the Ship Module, if you want to stand a chance of survival.
Ship Modules are a form of passive upgrades that exponentially boosts your Stratagems abilities. There are a total of six categories under which the ship modules are categorized in the game, each having four further unlockable options. However, unlocking them all requires a lot of grinding the game.
How to unlock ship modules in Helldivers 2?
Ship Modules can be unlocked by collecting samples and requisition slips in Helldivers 2. The samples are available in three forms: Common (Green), Rare (Orange), and Very Rare (Pink). These samples are required in different quantity for different ship module upgrades.

How to collect samples in Helldivers 2?
Samples can be collected by playing through various missions, locating them, and retrieving them back to the ship safely. The samples are shared between all the teammates in a mission, so players must unite and collect them as a team.
The type of samples you farm from these missions depend on their difficulty:
- Common Samples are extracted from Trivial, Easy and Medium difficulty;
- Rare Samples are extracted from Challenging, Hard and Extreme difficulty; and
- Very Rare Samples are extracted from Suicide Mission, Impossible and Helldive difficulty.
